Good morning my sweet wonderful big boy.

Hows my boy today? Having lots of fun I bet.

I picked Spud up from the vets last night after his operation, poor little fella is so sore and looking very sorry for himself. He wasn't any trouble getting into the car, but he wanted a cuddle from me as we were driving along! He got picked for Diary of the Day, he does deserve it poor little bloke.

Remember how jealous Spud use to get when I was giving you a cuddle He tried to push you out of the way so he would get cuddles leading to as bit of growling from you. I had to cuddle both of you at the same time and tell you, "I love you both very much, so stop arguing." I have no doubt you were thinking "He's MY Daddy, NOT YOURS!!" Yea I know, I spoiled you so much as without a doubt, you are MY boy Merlin, but I do love all of you.

Bella has been given a beautiful picture for being diary of the day yesterday and a beautiful diamond. You know what Merlin, our doggie family as touched so many hearts on here from so many wonderful kind human and doggie families. I am proud of you all.

Time to go play my boy and have some fun.

My wonderful big boy Merlin

Good morning my boy.

It's nice today my boy, a little wind and not too hot.

I took Spud to the vet today to be neutered, what a nightmare! First he wouldn't get into the car, after much puffing and panting on my part, I got him in. We drove to the vet and that's when the problems really started. I got him out of the car where he slipped his collar and bolted into heavy traffic, he was so lucky he wasn't run over. Eventually I got hold of him and put his collar back on, then he refused to go into the vets, so I had to carry him in, he is so heavy! Once in the vets he stood his ground and wouldn't move, to cut a very long story short myself and one of the nurses finally managed to get him in his cage before his operation. I'm not looking forward to picking him up later! I know one thing, I'm buying him a collar he wont be able to slip out of!

Bella got picked for Diary of the day, she really deserved it Merlin. Until she adopted us she didn't have a very good life, her first owner let her run the streets and basically didn't look after her, then put her in the pound, another person took her and because she was so boisterous took her back to the pound, then we got her. Your mum really loves dear old Bella and I know you did as you played with her quite a lot before she got too old to run around.

I bet you are having so much fun my boy, I am so glad that you are. But wait till I get there my boy, we will run and play all day long with Lady Girl, Monty and Lady Zara your girlfriend, then there's my sweet collie Sara, my little girl Judy and sweet little Scoobie. We will all have so much fun Merlin.

Good morning my sweet wonderful big boy.

The days are much cooler now, the kind of days that you loved to run and play, you and Spud would play for hours chasing each other, well usually you chasing Spud. You could never catch him, that boy is so fast on his feet. After a while you gave up and came to see me, as always wanting a cuddle.

I always loved watching you run and play, it was all one big adventure for you my boy, then I'd watch you simply sitting at your place by the fence keeping watch. You always looks so proud sitting there, and as always, alert. You loved other members of the human family, but you always let it be known that you was my boy and my protector.

When Lady Zara had her puppies on the property she would let you come and look at them, but if Bella or Hobo came near them she always warned them off. She was without a doubt your girlfriend and you was her boyfriend, she was indeed your girl my boy.

Whenever I threw sticks for you, she would run along side you, but she would never try and pick them up. It was so lovely to watch.

Time to go play my boy and enjoy yourself.

Good morning my sweet wonderful big boy.

Hows my so special boy today?

I bet you have been having so much fun and guess what? You have been given even more Easter eggs! You are such a lucky boy Merlin.

It's so cold at night now, remember how you would climb up on my bed in the middle of the night without waking me? In the end I'd wake up because you had laid across my legs cutting off the circulation, you are a very heavy boy Merlin! Finally I'd manage to get you to lay alongside me where we both had enough room, but somehow during the night you use to spread yourself out, so all I'd end up with was a couple of inches on the edge of the bed. When I'd try and push you over you'd give me a little complaining growl but finally move over a bit. You did like your comfort my boy.

Remember when you got that grass seed in your ear? It did hurt you my boy, we took you to the vet, and when he tried to remove it you tried to bit him him, oppps! He had to knock you out with an injection so he could remove it, then let you sleep it off till later that day. When I came to collect you, you staggered out of the crate towards me and I asked, "Have you been a good boy Merlin?" The vet replied with a very affirmative "NO!" Oh dear Merlin. But as far as I was concerned you were never bad, well except when you chewed my slippers when you were a puppy and when you kept biting everyone's feet. Oh boy, what a dog. You always had the ability to make me laugh my boy.

Oh my goodness

Happy Easter my lovely boy.

You have received even more wonderful gifts from so many amazing people and doggies, more Easter eggs and a beautiful star from Milo, Hobo and Luna. You are such a lucky boy. So many people and doggies are so kind to you Merlin, my heart is bursting with pride my boy.

Its the first Easter that you are away from us Merlin, but please rest assured you are still in our hearts and our minds, and please remember we love you and miss you so much. I know you are looking down on us Merlin, I often sit and talk to you, I tell you how much I miss you and how much I love you. I hope you can hear me my boy.

Remember the toys we gave you, they didn't last long before they were in shreds, my son Mike suggested that we buy you a cannon ball but I have no doubt that you would break that too. The only toy that seemed to last with you was the one I made you from rope, tied at each end and a knot in the middle, that lasted a few weeks before I needed to make a new one. I did laugh the way you would shake it from side to side and the knots at each end whacked you, you would get really annoyed with it and shake it harder. You always made me laugh my boy.

Hello my wonderful boy.

Merlin you have again received some more beautiful presents from the wonderful people and doggy pals on Dogster. You have got a beautiful red rosette and 5 Easter eggs! I am so happy for you Merlin, you have again made me so proud. Thank you all for Merlin's beautiful presents, without a doubt the families on Dogster are the best in the world, the generosity astounds me.

I am a bit late today, I have had problems getting connected, and once I did get connected it was awfully slow, it still is slow. Anyway I am here to write in my big boy's diary.

It's turning colder here now Merlin, the nights are getting colder, the sort of nights you would jump on my bed for a cuddle to keep warm, not only that, you would keep me warm too. I miss those cuddles my boy, One day we will cuddle up again my boy and we will never be parted again.

I love you so much Merlin and I miss you beyond words.

Merlin you are such a lucky boy, you have not only made featured diary but some wonderful pals have left you some amazing gifts. From the family of Milo, Hobo and Luna you have been given a beautiful star, from Angel Whisper and Dixie you have received a beautiful rainbow. You make me so proud Merlin that you have touched so many hearts that they are so kind to you and I. I am truly humbled by you Merlin. Thank you all those who have been so kind to my wonderful boy Merlin and myself.

Without Dogster, the fantastic Dogster staff, the wonderful people and doggy pals on Dogster I would not have coped with my Merlin's passing as I did, I give each and everyone of you my heartfelt thanks. I know for a fact that I wouldn't have coped at all. My only regret is I cannot thank each and everyone of you personally and shake the paws of all the wonderful doggy pals. May God bless each and everyone of you.

You always continue to amaze me Merlin how so many people and doggy pals are drawn to you and so kind to you my boy. I cannot help but love you my lovely boy Merlin.

My wonderful big boy Merlin

Good morning my handsome boy, I wish I could give you a huge hug and kiss your proud and noble head and say "I love you my big boy."

We have had high winds all day yesterday and all night, the wind has dropped a little today but its still annoying, but it is amusing to watch Molly chasing leaves blown into the air. She was chasing butterfly's yesterday, when they suddenly changed direction she fell over and chased another one.

Compared to Molly you were the best behaved puppy in the whole wide world. She is so naughty and full of nonsense it's unbelievable. You always (well the majority of time)did as you were told, this little girl is going to be a bit of a handful. She'll come right in the end. She's laying at my feet fast asleep, just like you use to do, as you well know, you were rarely far from me. At times I thought my name was Mary and you were a little lamb when you followed me around. I'd stop and look at you, and as always you had that lovely smiling face looking up at me as if you were saying, "Don't leave me behind Daddy." Our bond is so strong my boy, it will never break in a million years, even though you are no longer by my side. One day my boy we will be together again and what fun we will have running and playing together.

Good morning my big wonderful special boy.

Hello my lovely boy, it is so good to talk to you Merlin.

Some days I cannot help but be sad because you are not by my side as you always were, other days I smile when I sit and think of the wonderful times we had together, the fun, the laughter, your silly little antics. You always lifted my spirits when I was down Merlin, somehow you always knew and came to me with your lovely smiling and happy face to cheer me up. When you nudged my arm, then put your head under my arm when you knew giving you a cuddle would make me smile, you always knew Merlin.

While I breathe Merlin, no one in the family will ever forget you my boy, I'll make sure of that.

As a baby you were so beautiful my boy, the number of people who wanted to say hello to you was amazing. Of course you just loved the attention. Then as you got older you began to look so proud and noble, just like a German Shepherd should look, your eyes could look so deep into my soul. You are one handsome boy Merlin and I am so proud of you.
