Good morning my sweet and wonderful big boy, I hope you are having lots and lots of fun and games and chasing and running and jumping. When I get there my boy we will have so much fun together.

Its not a bad run and play day today, its very overcast and quite cool, but very humid. We got a heck of a lot of rain yesterday, and I mean A LOT! The roof did begin to leak then stopped, so hopefully its finally fixed.

Its Mike my sons birthday tomorrow, he celebrated this morning by cooking himself some breakfast, I asked where mine was and your mum rolled her eyes and asked "What do you want for breakfast????? Now I couldn't pass up on that offer could I? Eggs, bacon and beans, it was soooooo nice. So nice Molly was by my chair hoping I'd drop something. Not a chance. Mike calls her Dustbin Dog or DD for short and he now calls me Dustbin Granddad or DG!

Molly is such a clown, she chases my torch beam round and round, she pounces on it and when I turn it off she sits there waiting for it to appear again. Oh boy what a dog.

Time for you to go play and have some fun my sweet and wonderful boy with your buddies. As I said yesterday, "Keep a place for me."

Good morning my sweet and wonderful big boy, I hope you have been having lots and lots of fun with your buddies.

Today is so nice and cool, but its not a run and play day, because its raining. Everything has cooled off so wonderfully. I hope the repair work on the roof of the house is OK, I'll find out soon if water comes through the ceiling again.

Molly is in her usual place laying beside my chair fast asleep, just as you were always under my desk fast asleep. I still don't know how you managed to get under there, Molly is tiny compared to you and she just about fits. It really was so wonderful having you close to me all of the time, unless you were helping your mum with the gardening. She didn't think it was wonderful when you dug her plants up and her yelling, "MERLIN WILL YOU GO AWAY???" LOL I always laughed at that, and still do, so funny my boy. Without a doubt Merlin, you are a GSD in a million billion, I know I will never find another like you, but I really hope you approve of Molly, she really is sweet Merlin and I do love her. But you know I love you, right? And I always will.

Good morning my sweet and wonderful big boy, how are you today?

Today is the same as yesterday, the same as the day before, hot, hot and hot. Although the temperatures are dropping at night which makes it easier to sleep, unless Bella starts Molly, Spud and Hobo off barking!

I think the people next door have moved their dogs to the other side of their house, because they aren't running up to the fence and barking now. But Bella and Hobo still run up to the fence. Those two will never learn. If Spud or Molly runs up to the fence I only have to call them and they come running, Bella and Hobo don't. Although you wasn't a little angel in that regard were you??? Remember how you and next doors dogs use to race up and down the fence line barking your heads off???? I really had to scold you to get you away and I'd call you a bad bad boy. You'd give me one of your looks and walk away. Oh boy Merlin, some of your antics. How I'd love to see those antics again my sweet and wonderful boy. I often sit and think of our times together, right from when you were a tiny puppy. Ladies would swoon over you, and of course you loved all the attention. I know for a fact I'd never ever get another boy like you again. MY SPECIAL BOY!

Good morning my sweet and wonderful big boy, how are you this morning?

After posting your diary yesterday I took the doggies outside, it was so hot even in the shade, they did their business and ran inside. Today looks exactly the same, no cloud and no wind, its going to be another scorcher.

Melissa my daughter came home from work early last night with a cold, and Mike my son came home from work early, apparently he ate a chicken and mayonnaise sandwich yesterday, he's been up all night being sick. He's silly buying sandwiches like that, it was probably left over from the day before and was probably off. Your mum isn't feeling too good either and I've got toothache lol.

In the early hours of this morning your mum and I were fast asleep when Bella started barking, then Spud, Molly and Hobo joined in! I was most annoyed being woke up especially as it was one of Melissa's cats coming home!

Time to go play with your buddies and have some fun my sweet and wonderful big boy.

Good morning my sweet and wonderful Merlin, how are you today? I hope you are having lots of fun with your buddies.

Yesterday was so hot, I took the doggies out so they could run and play, it was too hot for them, but they had to do their toilet. They all soon came running indoors. Its looks the same today, it really is hot again today, but I will have to take then out soon.

Molly is as usual asleep beside my chair, I went to get up to make myself a cup of tea a few minutes ago, but Molly had me trapped and would she move? NO! Somehow I managed to get my feet over her and went to make myself a cup of tea and guess what? Molly came trotting out after me. I very nearly swore. I came back and sat down and Molly came trotting back in and flopped down beside me again. She can be so cantankerous at times, oh boy! I have a very powerful torch/flashlight which I use when I take the doggies out at night. Molly likes to chase the beam so I realised I can wear her out without moving, just shine the beam backwards and forwards, I had her running back and forth for ages until she looked at me and went indoors.

Good morning my sweet and wonderful big boy Merlin.

Hello my special and amazing big boy, I hope that you are having lots and lots of fun.

It looks like another hot day today, there's no cloud but a fairly strong wind. Last night was so nice and cool, when I took the doggies out for their last run and toilet last night, it was actually cold. In fact non of them stayed out very long, usually I have to keep calling them until they decide to come indoors.

Its a year today that Molly came to live with us, that year has flown by. It was a hard decision to bring another GSD into the house, I didn't want to think I was replacing you, no other GSD will ever replace you my boy, ever! Molly has become a wonderful tribute to you Merlin, she is such a sweet little girl. Yes she is naughty and full of mischief, then again so were you, and I loved every minute of it. You always made me laugh with your antics, even when your mum or Mike or Melissa was telling you to behave. Believe me Merlin there will never be another GSD like you in my life, ever!

Good morning my sweet and wonderful big boy Merlin.

Hello my sweet and wonderful big boy, I hope you have been having lots and lots of fun running, chasing and playing.

Yesterday was quite nice Merlin, not too hot and quite nice for playing, and last night was a lot cooler then it has been, so I managed to sleep quite nicely. Today is similar to yesterday, so it think it would be a nice run and play day for you, except Spud would probably annoy you.

Molly is in her usual place beside my chair sleeping, Spud is on my bed sleeping, I have no doubt Bella and Hobo are laying down sleeping somewhere. As soon as I finish this diary entry and a few other things I need to do, I'll send them all out to play. I don't like sending them out unless I can keep an eye on them and stop Bella and Hobo going close to the fence next door and causing trouble with their dogs.

Melissa my daughters car is mended again, new locks were fitted. Now we just need to wait for something else she breaks on her car. The amount of work that has been done on her car, its almost brand new again.

Good morning my sweet and wonderful big boy.

Good morning Merlin. Sorry about yesterday, as I said we had a man working on the roof, the noise was horrific. Leaves from our Blue Gum tree's had blown into the gullies in the roof and blocked them, so when it rained, water came through the ceiling and into the house. Hopefully now when winter comes and it rains heavily, I wont get wet sitting in my chair!

Today is not too bad, its sunny but there is quite a lot of cloud, so hopefully it will be cooler today and there is a gentle breeze. It might turn out to be a nice day, BUT, this month is always hotter then the rest of the year.

I remember how much you loved running and playing, I am so glad we have all this property so you could run to your hearts content. I really loved watching you run, you always looked so noble and majestic. So perfect my boy.

I don't know if you knew, but little Molly was the last of her litter, I think people bypassed her because she didn't have the colouring people wanted. More fool them, because now she is a member of our family, she is turning out to be a really lovely little girl. She can be so naughty at times and full of mischief, but she really is a lovely little girl, and I know you would have loved her Merlin.

Melissa my daughter has broken the locks on her little car, so now Mike my son and I have got to fit new ones, a real pain in the neck. Oh well, never mind.

hello my sweet and wonderful boy I do hope you have been having fun, you deserve all the fun you can get.

Its another hot day today, and the news says its going to get even hotter. There are no clouds and no wind, its almost stifling. All the doggies are inside and guess where Molly is? Yep right beside me, just like you always were. I've been putting Molly on a lead to get her better lead trained, she's no where near as big as you Merlin but she is so strong, it takes all my strength to keep her from pulling me over. She see's Spud and of course wants to play, she takes a lot of keeping in check. Of course Spud doesn't help, he runs up to her and barks at her to play. Sometimes I could strangle Spud, but other times he is such a sweet boy. Mike my son had Mia my granddaughter on his lap and of course Spud wanted a look in, Mia screamed with delight when Spud licked her tummy. It was so funny. Mia has got another trick she likes doing, when she is in her wheeled thingy, she pulls something over her head so she can't see where she's going and goes hell for leather. The dogs scatter and so do the cats. Oh boy, I reckon we've got a handful with her.
