Arrival Story:
Baby Merlin's story began more then 10 years ago, when a Golden Labrador puppy was brought home, with a view that she would be wonderful friend to my 2 children then aged 14 and 6. Lady came home and settled right in, she was naughty as all puppies are, but she had a wonderful character and temperament The children loved her and she loved them. However, I thought it would be a good idea to get Lady her own doggy friend, so off to the dog pound we went and found a small very mixed breed male named Monty. At first Lady hated Monty with a passion, then as the days and weeks passed, they became truly wonderful friends, completely inseparable, they were the epitome of true friendship. The years passed, then sadly in 2005 Lady died, Monty was broken hearted, crying and howling, nothing could console him whatsoever. Then one day my daughter came home from school and told me of a mixed breed GSD named Bella, who would visit her school and play with the children, but because the owner was moving overseas Bella was put into the dog pound. I thought Bella would maybe be a good friend to Monty. Bella joined the family, and again she has a wonderful character and personality. Bella is quite a large dog, and very boisterous, always wanting to play. Sadly Monty missed his old pal Lady too much, and no other doggy pal would replace her, he simply wasn't interested. Over a year passed since Lady died, all Monty wants to do is eat and sleep, he shows no interest in anyone or anything, no amount of fussing over him revives the spark he had with Lady. Its so sad to watch, he simply wants to be left alone. Bella on the other hand wants to play, and kept pestering Monty, leading to a lot of snapping and snarling. I thought perhaps a puppy would be a good pal to Bella. Then one day totally out of the blue there was an advertisement in the local paper, 6 pure bred GSD puppies for sale, 6 weeks old. A quick phone call confirmed that all 6 were still available so I could have the pick of the litter. I was greeted by the mum and dad of the puppies, both beautiful GSD's with wonderful temperaments. On being shown the puppies, one stood out, he was bigger then the rest, quite bold and very confident. I picked him up and looked at him, he looked at me, then began chewing my moustache, much to the amusement of my daughter. I knew there and then that he was the one. He was immediately named Merlin and taken home where he was introduced to Bella and Monty. Bella wagged her tail, but Monty looked at Merlin and walked off. Merlin has only been with us for a few days, since Friday 12th January in fact, already he and I are bonding very strongly. I take him for his walks around my couple acres of land, he walks right beside me, and comes when he is called with a lovely wagging tail, as if to say, Here I am dad, don't leave me behind. Bella looks at Merlin as if to say, This is MY house kid, so behave. I can see the two of them becoming truly wonderful friends just as Lady and Monty were. Bella and Monty are spoiled as much as possible and included in any activity by the whole family, so neither of them will ever feel left out. Merlin has stopped his crying at night he has settled down, and in the morning he is sitting by the bedroom door, waiting to say Good Morning. I will update baby Merlin's page on a regular basis, so his doggy friends can see how he is growing and getting along. Proud of him? You bet I am!

Merlin passed over the bridge 27th December 2011. I love and miss you so much Merlin. All my love Daddy.

Good morning Merlin my sweet gentle giant.

Its another bright and sunny day, quite warm but still very windy. I keep forgetting to check the weather forecast to check how long we have to put up with these high winds. When I let the dogs out they either come running back indoors or they find somewhere out of the wind to chill out or play. I think it might make a good run and play day for you my boy.

Mia is a lot better now, hopefully she will be going back to play school tomorrow and I can get my peace and quiet back during the day. I do love her very much, but I also love my peace and quiet.

I was talking to Mike my son yesterday, he said he might be coming back here for a holiday next year. I hope so because I miss the lad big time. The problem will be is when he flies back to UK, we're going to start missing him all over again. I don't know how much time I've got left in this world, so I would like to see him again at least once before I die. I'm not being morbid Merlin, just facing facts. I wonder if Mia will remember him, because he was always playing with her. I hope she hasn't forgotten him. It looks like he's found the love of his life, a really lovely young lady and so pretty. I really hope she's the one.

Anyway my boy, its that time again, time for you to go play and have some more fun.

I love and miss you so much Merlin, the best friend I ever had.

Your ever loving Daddy.

Good morning Merlin my sweet gentle giant.

Its another beautiful day, nice and bright and sunny and warm, but the high winds are ruining it. The high winds are so strong they take my breath away, literally. The dogs won't stay outside, they are all inside at the moment, with Molly laying beside my chair.

Mia is a lot better this morning, she seems far happier then she has been for the past two weeks, thank goodness.

I just got back home from the mall where I have my usual Saturday morning treat of a nice breakfast. I could cook my own breakfast, it would be far cheaper but its nice to let someone else do the cooking and be waited on.

I was going to wash the dust off my Chevy with the pressure washer, but in this wind I'm the one that gets washed and not the truck. I have no idea how much longer we will have these high winds, I need to check the weather forecast.

Its that time again my sweet boy, time to go play some more.

You know how much I love and miss you Merlin?

Your ever loving Daddy.

Good morning Merlin my sweet gentle giant.

Its another beautiful day today, it is very windy but quite warm. It would make a really nice run and play day for you my sweet boy.

Mia is a lot better now thank goodness, but her idiot dad is coming later on today. He doesn't talk to me, he keeps well out of my way. I didn't like him the first time I met him and as time has gone past I like him even less. I am absolutely surprised that my son Mike actually thought he was a nice person. In all honesty he's a nasty piece of work. If I had my way he wouldn't set foot inside this house.

I've got some more errands to run sometime today, I'm waiting on a phone call. I really don't like hanging around waiting for someone to call. I like arrangements set in stone so I know what I am doing and when I am doing it.

Well my boy its that time again, time for you to go play and have some more fun with your buddies.

Never forget Merlin, just how much I love you and miss you.

Your ever loving Daddy.
