Arrival Story:
Baby Merlin's story began more then 10 years ago, when a Golden Labrador puppy was brought home, with a view that she would be wonderful friend to my 2 children then aged 14 and 6. Lady came home and settled right in, she was naughty as all puppies are, but she had a wonderful character and temperament The children loved her and she loved them. However, I thought it would be a good idea to get Lady her own doggy friend, so off to the dog pound we went and found a small very mixed breed male named Monty. At first Lady hated Monty with a passion, then as the days and weeks passed, they became truly wonderful friends, completely inseparable, they were the epitome of true friendship. The years passed, then sadly in 2005 Lady died, Monty was broken hearted, crying and howling, nothing could console him whatsoever. Then one day my daughter came home from school and told me of a mixed breed GSD named Bella, who would visit her school and play with the children, but because the owner was moving overseas Bella was put into the dog pound. I thought Bella would maybe be a good friend to Monty. Bella joined the family, and again she has a wonderful character and personality. Bella is quite a large dog, and very boisterous, always wanting to play. Sadly Monty missed his old pal Lady too much, and no other doggy pal would replace her, he simply wasn't interested. Over a year passed since Lady died, all Monty wants to do is eat and sleep, he shows no interest in anyone or anything, no amount of fussing over him revives the spark he had with Lady. Its so sad to watch, he simply wants to be left alone. Bella on the other hand wants to play, and kept pestering Monty, leading to a lot of snapping and snarling. I thought perhaps a puppy would be a good pal to Bella. Then one day totally out of the blue there was an advertisement in the local paper, 6 pure bred GSD puppies for sale, 6 weeks old. A quick phone call confirmed that all 6 were still available so I could have the pick of the litter. I was greeted by the mum and dad of the puppies, both beautiful GSD's with wonderful temperaments. On being shown the puppies, one stood out, he was bigger then the rest, quite bold and very confident. I picked him up and looked at him, he looked at me, then began chewing my moustache, much to the amusement of my daughter. I knew there and then that he was the one. He was immediately named Merlin and taken home where he was introduced to Bella and Monty. Bella wagged her tail, but Monty looked at Merlin and walked off. Merlin has only been with us for a few days, since Friday 12th January in fact, already he and I are bonding very strongly. I take him for his walks around my couple acres of land, he walks right beside me, and comes when he is called with a lovely wagging tail, as if to say, Here I am dad, don't leave me behind. Bella looks at Merlin as if to say, This is MY house kid, so behave. I can see the two of them becoming truly wonderful friends just as Lady and Monty were. Bella and Monty are spoiled as much as possible and included in any activity by the whole family, so neither of them will ever feel left out. Merlin has stopped his crying at night he has settled down, and in the morning he is sitting by the bedroom door, waiting to say Good Morning. I will update baby Merlin's page on a regular basis, so his doggy friends can see how he is growing and getting along. Proud of him? You bet I am!

Good morning Merlin my sweet gentle giant.

Its quite a nice day today, there is some cloud but overall its nice and sunny, there's no wind so its quite warm. Last night was nasty, very high winds causing the temperature to drop. But today looks like a good run and play day for you my boy.

Mia had bad earache last night, she was in quite a bit of pain, thankfully this morning she was OK. I think what happened her idiot dad took her out for a walk when the winds were high. That man hasn't got the common sense of a chocolate frog.

Last night after dropping off Mia's dad at his flat I came home to a power cut, most annoying as the garage door is operated by electricity so I couldn't get my Chevy into the garage. Thankfully and hour later the power came back on. I suppose the high winds had downed the power lines again.

Today I wont be going anywhere I'm going to chill out at home, relax, watch TV and probably fall asleep in my chair. I'm getting old Merlin, all I do is fall asleep these days.

Well my boy, its that time again, time to go play and have some more fun with your buddies.

I love and miss you so much Merlin, please never forget that.

Your ever loving Daddy.

Good afternoon Merlin my sweet gentle giant.

I'm a bit late today as I had to run a few errands and have breakfast at Melissa's little coffee shop, which was quite nice.

Its a really lovely day today, nice and bright and sunny, a bit of a stiff breeze but still quite warm. All of the pack are outside, I'm surprised Bella hasn't started barking to be let in, so it must be nice and warm outside for her. I was very annoyed with Spud this morning, when the pack was let out Spud ran up to the fence and started trying to fight with the dogs next door. Before it was only Bella and Hobo, now its Spud as well. At least Molly doesn't get involved, she's got more sense.

Mia has been behaving herself this morning and so has her dad.........so far. I just have to keep reminding him about certain things so that he doesn't slip up. He's got the attention span of a goldfish.

I didn't sleep too well last night, I was awake very early and now I feel like I need to take a nap for an hour or so.

Well my boy its that time again, time for you to go play and have some more fun with your buddies.

I love and miss you so much Merlin.

Good afternoon Merlin my sweet gentle giant.

Sorry that I am late today I had quite a few errands to run, I've got a lot more but they can
wait for another day. When I came home anyone would think I had been away for years instead of a morning. Molly was going round and round me crying wanting attention, as soon as I put my shopping on the counter I gave her a bit of a cuddle, then she ran outside to play fight with Spud. Oh boy what a dog.

Its a nice bright and sunny day today, not a cloud in the sky, nice and warm and no wind, just a very gentle breeze. It would make a good run and play day for you my boy. Molly and Spud are playing as usual, Bella is under my desk and Hobo is doing his thing somewhere on the property.

Mia was in a good mood this morning ,she started to whine a bit then she was OK. She is really a drama queen that girl, she loves the attention. When she whines I glare at her over my glasses, she then goes running to your mum and says “Granddad is naughty,” which of course makes me chuckle. Oh boy what a girl.

Its that time again my boy, time to go play and have some more fun with your buddies.

I will never stop loving you or missing you my boy.

Your ever loving Daddy.
