Arrival Story:
Barney was rescued from our local animal shelter.

We got Barney Jan.11, 2006. He came from the animal shelter, so all we know about him is from that time. We think Barney has been abused because of his actions. He is very nervous and will bite if he get's scared. If a foot is raised quickly, he will attack your foot. That leads me to believe he has been kicked. Overall, he is a sweet little dog, he is slowly coming out of some of his bad habits. We love him any way and he is where he is going to stay.

Update for Barney

This is to tell all my pup pals I live in heaven now. I got here 1 year ago today. I was very sick and my mommy, daddy, and my Dr. did all they could for me. You see I had heart failure and it has no cure. My wonderful friend at the vets office, Justin, made sure I was as comfortable as I could be under the circumstances. He really liked me and I loved him. My mommy stayed with me, I wish I had been able to tell her not to cry, it was time for me to rest. I know I am still missed today, but I'm happy playing with my buddy Peanut.
I will see my family again, I know I will.

I have lived here two years

Hi all my pals,
I just wanted to tell you I have lived with my family for two years today. It has been a good two years for me. My mommy took me to the Dr. and got my thyroid problem taken care of, I have been sleeping in a bed since day one, and I am really starting to like the petting and attention I get. I haven't been cold or hungry since I came here and I know I never will be. It is a lot different than the shelter I came from. There I had to sleep on a cold, concrete floor and no one payed any attention to me. Mommy and Daddy said I never have to worry about that again. It took me a while, but I know that is true now.
And I still have all my little buddies to play with. Sometimes we play for a long time. I am glad I feel better so I feel like playing.
I just wanted to tell you all that and to say I'm looking forward to a lot more years of a good life.
I wish all little fur babies could get as lucky as I did.

I am so happy

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to give you an update on how I'm doing.
I have felt really good lately. I play more, eat better (never was much of a problem there), just happier.
As you can see from my latest photo, my mommy let me get on the desk while she was on the computer. I saw Percy do that and thought, that is pretty neat. I knew if I wanted up there she would let me. Of course, she watches us really close so we won't fall and get hurt. I am starting to do more and more things.
We have this thing we do in the morning. Our human daddy always get's us a bowl of fresh water every morning. After mommy get's up, he goes into the kitchen. We can see him from the sunroom. We know he is going after our treat. We wait and watch the window until we see him coming back. I get to go inside, I have to take my medicine in the morning also. Anyway, I get my meds and my treat, then I'm rady to get my day started. Sometimes we all take a nap, but sometimes we play first.
Around 11 or so, we start wanting to take our nap. Mommy and Daddy take one with us, so that's the good nap of the day. We get to get in the bed. I sleep in the bed every night.
I have been very happy in my forever home. It will be 2 years Jan. 11 since I came to live here and it's been the best 2 years. I'm never cold, hungry, or mistreated. My family loves me a lot. And I love them back.
I like to be picked up and sit on lap's a lot more than I did. I discovered that is pretty cool. I get my ears rubbed when I do that, boy, do I ever like to have my ears rubbed. I don't even mind a bath, although it's not my favorite thing to do. Mommy said I'm real good. I don't try to get away, I just let her wash me. I feel better after a bath. I even let her brush me, but not trim my nails yet. My Dr. has to do that. Maybe someday I will let her trim them. I know she wouldn't hurt me, I just don't like it.
Better go. Talk later
