Birthday: November 25th 1997 Likes: Laying by his fan or sleeping on his LL Bean bed (his "fluff"), belly rubs, being wherever Daddy is, getting mushed on by Mommy, playing tugga Pet-Peeves: Vacuums, golf carts, loud noises in general Favorite Toy: Rubber stick, tripod, gumabone, stuffed animals (cow, Homer and Bart Simpson, turkey, weenie dog) Favorite Food: ham or cheese--McDonald's cheeseburgers are also always good, cheese puffs, Cheetos Favorite Walk: around our neighborhood Best Tricks: catching, sassing Arrival Story: We had been wanting to get a bulldog of our own because my husband's family already had one that was just the coolest dog. We walked into a pet store and saw him. He was pretty much the cutest puppy I had ever seen. We took him to a pen to play, and he just went nuts with playing tugga. We got my husband's mom to go to see him and she put a deposit down on him. My husband's dad (who he lived with at the time--we weren't married yet) had tried to talk him out of it because it was winter and pretty cold out to try potty training. I knew that Arthur already had a Hold sign on him, and I just couldn't bear knowing that other people would be looking over him because they thought he was already sold. And to think of him sitting there with the sign on his cage, and then us not coming for him. So I basically talked my husband into it--which wasn't too hard of course. So we went and got him.
I do want to say that I don't condone pet stores. And I don't want to help them continue to prosper, but at the time, we just went in, and saw that cute little face. And you know how the rest goes. Bio: Likes to dance. His bed needs to be properly fluffed, or he just isn't happy. Likes animal toys that make noise--moo, ribbet, gobble, honk. He is purebred, but there must be some American bulldog in there somewhere, so we call him a Mutant bulldog, with love of course. His legs are longer than most bulldogs and his nose isn't so smushed, so he is very healthy and runs like a horse.
Feb.2007: Was just diagnosed with a heart condition, ventricular cardiomyopathy. But that won't stop this baby from being the best boy ever. Just all the more reason to give him all the hugs and kisses he can stand!
Feb.18, 2008: Arthur had a progression of his heart condition at the end of January. We found at that the his original cardiomyopathy problem (which apparently a problem with the lower chamber of his heart) has now progressed to include the upper chamber of this heart. Tonight, Arthur had been pretty much his normal self--dancing, wiggling, playful--but then suddenly went into a strange breathing pattern. He laid down on his bed and the breathing got deeper and farther in between breaths until he finally stopped breathing and passed away. Forums Motto: Watching over all my friends! All my love to The Chicago Crew of Angels.
You will always be missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A very special family to us, Sarge, Abby, and Angel Rocky could use some extra dogster love. Please join us in lighting a candle for their daddy to send some extra love and prayers.
Our sweet friend Rocky went to the Bridge today. His family has been so dear to us for so long and we just can't say how sorry we are for their loss. Our prayers are with them, and I promise to take the best care of their dear boy at the Bridge.
We found out that our dear friend Rocky has cancer. He developed a swelling between his eyes and they just found out this week that it's cancer. Rocky's family are such dear friends of our and we love them so much. Please join me in saying prayers for Rocky to help him and his family through this difficult time as they are trying to figure out the best plan of care for him.
