I was born in North Dakota!

I originally lived in a family with twin babies (boy, was it noisy)!

I have 2 new sisters named Georgie & Molly!

I am the tallest pup in the family!

I love to run on the beach or anywhere off leash!

I love to chase anything that moves (including Molly - sorry mom)!

Swimming! Fireworks!

I went swimming for the first time today, at least at my new house. Mom doesn't know if I've ever been swimming before. First I sat on the steps with dad, then mom, then I got onto a raft with mom and floated around. That was really cool. Then dad held me in the water so I could swim. I started out looking like a shrimp using my front legs and my back ones hanging down. But eventually I figured it out. However I am a terrier - I like terra firma! I prefer to run around the pool. But when mom is in the pool I want to be with her. She's going to get a firmer raft for me. She saw a video of a miniature schnauzer swimming in a pool with a lifejacket, so she wants to try that too. We'll see!!!! But I trust mom alot. Georgie got in the pool too, but Molly wouldn't come near it - her legs are too short for swimming - BOL!

Another thing that happened today is that I heard fireworks. They were only 1 mile away and sounded so loud. At first I ran around the house cuz I thought someone was trying to break in!!! But mom had me sit next to her & everything was ok. I got used to it.

Whew, exciting day. I'm sleepy now....zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Swimming - Day 2

Well, mom got me a life jacket. It actually kept me upright so I could swim. I only did it a couple of times, mom doesn't want to stress me out. But I swam 1/2 way across the pool with dad walking in front of me - very cool! I always keep the steps in my view just in case!!! That's the first thing I learned. Maybe I'll get more brave at swimming if we keep this up!

Mom & dad laughed because a towel was hanging over a chair. I went up & rubbed my head & back on it - hehehe

A lot of schnauzers in Schnauzer's Rule have posted that they HATE water. Georgie doesn't like it, but she likes to sit with mom on the steps or float on a raft so she doesn't mind. She doesn't like swimming if she doesn't have to. Mom said Annie was the same. Mom also said both Georgie & Annie would jump into ponds in Florida to chase birds & were good swimmers. I guess it just takes motivation. But there are 2 schnauzers, Bella & Emmy, who love to swim & go every weekend. They would be motivation! I wish dad's old golden retriever Boomer still was with us - he'd teach me how to swim better!

Pepe Le PeeYew!!!!

I got skunked last night! I smelled something awful & heard some noise behind the guest house. Mom saw me take off across the yard & called but I didn't listen. Next thing she heard was that crazy bark & squeal that only a schnauzer can let out. So mom runs out screaming my name, Molly runs out after me barking, dad runs out and mom's screaming to him, so I run back to see what's going on!!! Then the skunk comes around the corner, tail raised high stamping his feet, coming right at my dad. Mom gets us dogs in the house and picks me up with that special perfume wafting off of me. Meanwhile, Georgie is watching us from the dining room windows.

Mom used the mixture of peroxide, baking soda & liquid soap and I'm pretty odor free now. However, I'd say Pepe Le Pew won this round....

My new nickname: Stinky Boy!!! The indignity...I was just guarding the homestead...

Skunk tales & bad karma ....

So this a.m., mom didn't want to let us dogs out into the backyard until my dad can put up a barrier where the skunk scent remains. So she walked all of us in the neighborhood. I got a walk by myself with her today. I smelled skunk trails everywhere and I'm trying to run into the bushes lining our street. I remember the chase last night and I'm really excited now. I tried to run really hard & fast into our neighbors yard where there is this little hill. Mom's holding on to my leash and pulls back, and I stumbled. I came rolling out of the bush onto the ground while mom is swearing. Then she looks up as she puts me in a sit to calm us both down. Across the street is this meditation center & the guru & his women are standing outside looking at us.

Mom say she's now gonna have bad karma besides a stinky dog & yard!!! No laughing matter, huh?

Summer tails...

Our friends are here visiting from Florida. Georgie used to know them there. Jake is a 100 lb golden retriever - he's really friendly. He swam in the pool with us. He could swim for a full hour chasing MY frisbee without stopping. My goal is to swim - BOL!!! Mom puts on my life jacket and I can swim 1/2 way across the pool. I don't jump in like Jake though. If I don't wear the jacket, my bottom end hangs downward in the water. Mom says I look like a shrimp - then I do something like a "dog paddle" but don't get anywhere. I can stand on the stairs in the pool at least!

Another new thing is the hammock. I like swinging in it with mom. I surprised her the other day when she was sitting on it by jumping about 3 feet into the air & landing on the hammock next to her - BOL!!! She says we're definately gonna find me an agility class. Duncan, our schnauzer buddy, is a champ and his mom is giving us info on it.

I started a schnauzer food fight with a few pals on Schnauzer's Rule - that was fun!

I can't wait until next weekend - we go to the beach for several days. AAAAAARRRROOOOOOOO!!! My favorite.

It's turning out to be a good summer so far!!!

Anonymous Rosettes

I had a lot of fun with everyone in Schnauzer's Rule! I sent anonymous rosettes to some pals. Then I sent one to myself, and posted in the group about receiving one! So others starting wondering about it and guessing. Someone guessed Georgie of course cuz she's so sweet to everyone, so I gave her one also. But I slipped up a couple of times & used my photo instead of anonymous!!!! Roxy was really cool about not telling anyone for 2 days!!! Then I gave out hints. Tot got it right away but was thrown off by me receiving one!!! Then I slipped again & sent my photo to Beamer & Bella. So Bella revealed it.

It was SO much fun. I used up most of our rosettes doing it, but my mom said it was worth it to watch everyone have fun with it. I like playing games, but I'll have to come up with one that doesn't cost anything - BOL!!!!
