Birthday: January 20th 2005 Likes: Playing, running, jumping, swimming, beaches Pet-Peeves: Squirrels coming into the yard, also skunks, raccoons etc. Favorite Toy: tennis ball on a rope, tuffy frisbee Favorite Food: Sardines, liver biscotti treats, steak, veggies Favorite Walk: anywhere in the neighborhood, at the beach Best Tricks: retrieving, singing, high 5, high 10s, howling Arrival Story: My husband showed me a writeup to rehome an almost 2 year oldmini schnauzer. After losing our Annie the year before, he knew I wanted another. So I called, emailed a lot with his mom, met them & now he is living with us! Bio: We are Finn's 3rd and final home. His first two families didn't have time for him. His first family had twins, and the second family had to work a lot. We don't have much history on him on his early years, but it doesn't matter. He was anxious when we first got him. But now, he's adjusted pretty well. He's such a happy character. He has lots of energy and loves to run. He can jump any height and follows commands really well. He also has some agility equipment that we play on. He's a natural at jumping onto, through & over anything. We may have to see about agility lessons. He chases squirrels and now that we have Winston, he loves being chased. When we first got him he played a lot with Molly esp tug-a-war with toys - he would take all of them outside & make her mad. He has a lot energy and I'm not sure that Georgie and Molly think this is great. This year we added Winston to the family because he is closer in age to Finn. Winston has even more energy. The two of them keep each other in great shape. Neither has ever lived with another dog so they've become best friends and are inseparable. Since we had to spend a lot of time training, our parrot has even started saying "Finn"! He is really playful, energetic and very sweet. He's all boy, and loves everyone. He will be a natural at being a therapy dog when he gets older! Forums Motto: Wanna play? Today was my 7th birthday and I had a blast. I got to go on a motorcycle ride with my dad! I posted the photo on my page. Dad said I was so good. Then I went for a walk with my mom. It was raining so we skipped the beach walk BOL! But soon as it clears up, mom says we can go to the beach. Then I got some yummy treats, which I shared with everyone. And of course mom got me a new sweater! We played outside and inside today. It was a good day!

Happy Birthday to my sweet boy Finnegan. We are so happy you are in our family. Time flies when you're having fun, I can't believe you're already 7!!! You came to live with us when you were 2. You'd already been in 2 other homes, their loss, our gain. You weren't trained and you were rambunctious. Our 2 seniors Georgie & Molly had to have a lot of patience with your puppy energy!!! So Winston came to live with us so you would have a playmate. And boy have you had a lot of fun together. We've taken so many vacations together with your favorite being at the beach.
You've always been so kind. When Georgie had difficulty walking once, you supported her with your snout under her chin. When NeeNee joined our family and was frightened of everyone, you played with her so gently. You have a heart of gold! Every time everyone comes in from outdoors, you wait at the door until everyone is in before you relax. Whenever we leave the house, we tell you that you are in charge because we know you'll take care of the others.
You, Winston, Lily and NeeNee went through training with Uncle Matty. You were the star pupil. You are so well trained that we now can walk without a leash since you know voice and hand commands. I'm so proud of you.
We moved to Oregon a few months ago and you have settled in. You're loving all the new places and things to do, especially with all of the new outdoors space and smells.
You hold a special place in my heart, you big ole lover boy. I love how you jump up into my lap for some loving in the evenings. I can't imagine life without you. I hope you enjoyed your special day, a day that we celebrate you Finnegan!!!
Woo hoo, we really got wound up last night right before bedtime. Dad let us (Finn, Winston & Lily) out to go potty. And right across the lawn between our back steps and the guest house was a SKUNK!!!! All three of us charged across the lawn and surrounded the skunk. Mom was in another part of the house and heard dad bellowing at us. She ran outside and saw all three of us around it. She started yelling too! The skunk had his tail up and was stamping his feet. Mom saw me shake my head. Winston decided he better back off. Lily thought she might charge the skunk, but with both mom & dad yelling, she decided she better go to mom. I was the last to leave, and the only one to get sprayed! Pee Yew!!! Of course, even though it was midnite now I had to have a bath. Everyone was so hyper it was hard to get everyone settled down. Lily had to go in a crate for sleeping and Winston kept pacing for hours. I was a lot more sobered from the experience after having a bath suddenly, so I curled up and went to sleep. To dream of the next hunt!!!
Tonight when mom & I were taking a walk, there were 2 hawks fighting. They were on the street with their wings spread out, screeching, running at and hitting each other with their beaks. There was another one behind one of them on someone's lawn. That one also had their wings spread out but wasn't moving around too much. Mom stopped our walk before we got to them, but I wanted to go get them!!! Of course I was on a leash so couldn't reach them. My jumping around made them stop. Then 2 of them flew into a tree, and the other one flew into another tree on the opposite side of the street. We had to walk right through where they were fighting so mom was a little worried they might swoop down and attack us or something. But she didn't have anything to fear, I would've taken care of them!!! We didn't see any evidence of something they may have been fighting over. Mom says it was probably 2 guys fighting over a girl. BOL! We continued on our walk without any more action.
Wish we would've gotten pictures of me trying to get the hawks! I would've looked so brave for Uno!!!
