Arrival Story:
Danny was rescued from a shelter by GRRAND (golden retriever rescue). The folks at GRRAND had been talking with his former owners about placing him up for adoption. They said they were "afraid of him", and said he snapped at them. When the person from GRRAND called them back, they said they had already taken him to a shelter and didn't want to fool with him. Of course, the GRRAND folks went to the shelter and got him right away and took him to one of their kennel locations. He hadn't even made it on the GRRAND website when one of the rescue coordinators called me and said she had a dog she had just got that day that we would love. We drove out to see him and he came home with us that day. I can tell you that he is the sweetest dog I've ever known. He NEVER snaps, or even growls. All he wants to do is love on you. I think his former owners were just looking for an excuse to dump him. Their loss. He's a wonderful, slightly goofy pup.
Bio:
If you've ever seen the cartoon "Baby Huey"......that's Danny. Big, slightly dopey, about as graceful as an ox, and sweet as could be.
