Whew! I'm glad I'm back home. Mommy and Daddy just took Harper and me to their favorite place: Michigan. Don't get me wrong, that's where we were born and all, but there's too much excitement there for me. They always take us to Grammy's house. She gives us good treats, and I hang out under the bird cage and eat bird seed (which always makes me throw up on the way home). But I always have to pretend that I don't like Grammy. Really I do, but I secretly think that she wants to keep me. So I play like I'm a bad girl. I bark and I growl at her; I'm very convincing. She also gives me tons of treats to try to win my affection, so I think I'll keep it up "Cha-Ching."

Awwwwwww

We had a visitor this weekend. It was Aunt Mindy (my mom's best friend) from Michigan. I haven't seen her since I was half as long. (That's dachshund humor)
Anyway, I got to show her my new trick so many times. Mommy was proud. Mommy says "Aaaaawwwwww" really dramatically, (and stupidly) and I roll over on my back, and put my paws over my face. They go crazy over it, and I always get some kind of treat out of the deal, so what the heck? Well, sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

Aaaahhh... What a great day! The sun is out and Mommy and Daddy just took us for a long run. There were these two Basset Hounds behind a wooden fence barking at me. I thought it was cool that they couldn't get me:) So I just taunted them and trotted on by. I saw lots of leaves flying around and I chased them. Mom always laughs at me. But she keeps saying "There won't be many more days like this." I hope she doesn't mean that I won't be able to chase leaves around anymore. . . .
