Arrival Story:
We went to the animal shelter (Northshore Animal League in Long Island, NY) just "to look". We saw many cute puppies and dogs but were happy just to look and pet them. Then we saw Yoshi. He was pathetic laying on the concrete with his tail in between his legs and would not even look at us. One of the workers asked us if we wanted to sit with him (he had kennel cough, intestinal parasites, a broken tail and an ear infection so he could not play or be around the other dogs). He immediately sat in my lap and then went and sat in my wife's lap and then went back and forth between us cuddling with us. Slowly his tail came out from between his legs and we knew we were in trouble. Suffice to say he played us like a fiddle (he's good!!).

Bio:
When we brought him home he immediately fit in with our family (our Beardie Stella and our 3 cats). He went right into his crate and in 15 minutes had all of Stella's toys in with him. He is a great dog and has been great with Stella. She taught him how to be a dog and he has calmed her down a great deal. Northshore had him as being a Shepard mix but we believe he is a Black and Tan Coonhound mix from down south (Not too many coonhounds in the NYC area). We definately had never considered a coonhound but are hooked now. He is a wonderful boy to say the least.
