Rescued from a shelter in 2005 (was scheduled to be put to sleep) very loveable girl, great with children and cats, not good with all dogs and has seriously injured another dog more than once. Whatever this bully mix puts her mind to, she excels at. Whether it's sitting in my lap or fighting in spite of being hurt. For this reason we feel Gracie would be best as an only dog, but we WILL CONSIDER a home with one compatible dog. (Home visits/introductions will need to be done) Takes a while to warm up to some new people. Big "body language" dog, needs dog-savvy owners who understand this girl is at her best when she gets lots of attention and exercise. Gracie is spayed and current on all of her shots.
Bio:
Very athletic! Loves to chase balls, play tug, go for long walks, chase laser lights, play frisbee, you name it! She's a great retriever. Very loyal and affectionate. Enjoys her Kongs and footballs. Likes her crate. Sleeps in the bed just like a person, wants to be with her people as much as possible. Saturday Mom and Dad were home so I was happy. We were all playing in the back yard, me and mom and Eddie. We were having fun but then a scary thing happened! Eddie fell down, started drooling all over and kicking his legs in the air! I was like DOOD! WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?? Mom and Dad yelled at me to get away from him and I was scared and peed a little. I just wanted to see what was going on with him, I wasn't gonna do anything bad. But they were scared too so it's ok.
Mom was upset. She cried a lot and then they all got in the car and went away for a while. I was mad because we were having so much fun and then Eddie did that and they all left. But when they came home I got to go upstairs, which was fun because there are different smells up there... I can smell that yellow dog I dislike so much and I imagine biting him...
But then while we were up there, Eddie did it again! This time Mom and Dad didn't yell at me so much, they just put me in the stairwell. I heard Eddie making noises while he laid there kicking and stuff and I heard mom crying again and yelling at someone on the phone about getting him medicine. She went away and came back with medicine and he got to have a piece of cheese and I was a little jealous but then she gave me some cheese too.
Eddie kept doing that weird thing about 5 times that day and he's gotten to do whatever he wants since. Mom stayed home from work for a day and a half and it was great having her here. We didn't go for walks because it was really hot but we followed her around while she did stuff and sometimes gave us food. I wish she could be home with us every day!
Eddie hasn't done that thing in a few days and he is starting to act regular again. I'm glad because I like wrestling with him and they won't let us right now.

I'm all itchy! I'm shedding a lot and my skin is a little flaky. I like those fishy things mom used to give us, I hope she gets some more soon! They make my skin feel nice and my coat all shiny and not all fally-outy.
Where is she? She went upstairs a while ago and hasn't come back. Me and Eddie have just been laying around.
Blah.

I'm pooped! Mom and I played ball for a long time tonight! Every time I brought the ball back to her, she kicked it right away. I was running and running. It was so fun!
Ever since I came back in I've been snoring on the floor. I got up once to hump Eddie when he walked by, but that's about it.
I like bones. When's mom gonna give us more bones?
