I just have to share this!! After seeing it advertised in Modern Dog magazine I bought a PawPlunger and I have to say it is just AWESOME!! My little Francie gets really dirty feet and being a little white girl it's a real problem cleaning her up quickly after a walk without getting out all the paraphernalia and dealing with water everywhere. This strange looking thing (looks like a large coffee mug!) is so incredibly efficient and really works---no spills, fast and easy and Francie has the cleanest little toes in town! I really want to pass this information along for interested furparents! It's a very ingenious design and very very handy! At first I wondered if I had just bought the latest useless gimmick but when it arrived I tried it right away and I was totally hooked! Francie doesn't mind it at all and the little bristles inside are very soft.

Yesterday (Christmas Eve afternoon) we went with Auntie Jill out into the country to a little town called Birr where there is a really wonderful old-fashioned country general store called Legg's. They have the most awesome Christmas decorations and we bought some cute things to add to our collection as well as some of the very best butter tarts you could ever taste! I ran around outside in the little woods and Mom took some photos---of course! We went home and I helped Mom wrap some presents and we just had a lovely cozy Christmas Eve. Auntie Jill came over and we ate pizza and cake! SantyPaws came and I have some great new toys, clothes, and chewies. Today was fun as well and we are now all tired and lazy and very happy! I wish every little furbaby in the world could be as cherished and happy as I am! Tomorrow we are having our Christmas dinner---yum yum! I love turkey! God Bless us, one and all!

Mommy has often wondered if I had some Poodle or Lhasa or Bichon in me because I am a little bit bigger than your average Maltese (10lb) so she ponyed up and paid to have my DNA tested! It was easy---two cheek swabs, one left and one right, pop them in an envelope when air dry and send them off to the ViaGuard Accu-Metrics lab (www.viaguardinc.com) in Toronto. Voila---two weeks later we got the results----Mom was wrong! I am 100% Maltese with no trace of any other breed in me going back at least 5 generations! I am just on the higher size percentile for my breed---apparently there are a lot of pet Maltese who are in the 10lb range! It’s so neat to have the information and my DNA is on file at the lab forever! I get a great certificate with my photo on it and all kinds of information about my breed characteristics, any possible health concerns, etc! This is sooo cool!! What fun!

We are very excited about the Inauguration on Tuesday! Even though I am a little Canadian girl I am thrilled that Barack Obama will be the next President! He is such a lovely guy! Mommy thinks she will have a few happy tears when he is sworn in! I am getting in the mood---see my pic! Don't I look pretty and patriotic for my American buddies! WoooHooo----Barack Rocks!!!!

Happy New Year everyone! One of Mommy's 2009 resolutions is to keep up my Dogster diary! Lets see how long it lasts! Today was wonderfully quiet and cosy at home. It's sooo cold outside and snowy and windy---just the type of weather that makes a little gal want to stay in, even if she has a lovely fur coat! I did very quick potty trips outside and then scampered right back in! We played on the floor in the livingroom for ages with my little bouncy balls and my new squeekie toys that Santy brought for me! Afterwards, while I chewed on my little rawhide bone and then had a nap, Mommy watched old movies on DVD and worked on the very pretty sweater she is knitting me for my birthday later this month! Shhh---it's supposed to be a surprise but I peeked! It's so sweet with little flowers and cables! We had some really yummy cooked chicken for supper---mmmmm!! Well---that's it for now! Oh, tomorrow I might be trying out my new 'big girl bed'! We’ll let you know how it went! Happy New Year again to everybody!
