Arrival Story:
Francie was born January 13, 2005 in Port Elgin, Ontario. She and her sister were sold to a woman who had planned on starting a breeding program but she very quickly clued in that the commitment was huge and she would not have enough time as she also had a 6 year old son. She decided to sell Francie and her sister because it was also very obvious that they were a totally unsuitable breed to be around a boisterous little boy who wanted to play rough! Why she didn't realize all this beforehand really amazes me! I am certain Francie's nervousness with small children is a direct result of what she endured in this home. Anyway, my friend Amy told me about these babies and the rest is history! I was the luckiest person in the world to have been able to make this cutie part of the family. The day this little gal came into my life was a major and wonderful life changing event!

Francie has the most wonderful mellow personality and is just the dearest little thing! She's healthy and sturdy and has none of the health issues that can be common to the Maltese breed---(ie)luxating patellas, liver shunt problems, heart murmurs---thank goodness she has good breeding! She was 'born to play' and I spend a lot of time on the floor with her throwing her little sponge cat balls she loves so much or wrestling with her for one of her 'squeekies'! If I am busy on the computer I can be certain very soon I will have a little face in mine with a squeekie in her mouth! She is such a lovely little soul---I am so incredibly lucky! How time flies---I can't believe she is already 6! She still acts like a puppy, though! Just a little doll and cute as a button! Francie was Dogster's "Dog of the Day" on March 18, 2007! Yaaayyy!! The Paw Plunger!

I just have to share this!! After seeing it advertised in Modern Dog magazine I bought a PawPlunger and I have to say it is just AWESOME!! My little Francie gets really dirty feet and being a little white girl it's a real problem cleaning her up quickly after a walk without getting out all the paraphernalia and dealing with water everywhere. This strange looking thing (looks like a large coffee mug!) is so incredibly efficient and really works---no spills, fast and easy and Francie has the cleanest little toes in town! I really want to pass this information along for interested furparents! It's a very ingenious design and very very handy! At first I wondered if I had just bought the latest useless gimmick but when it arrived I tried it right away and I was totally hooked! Francie doesn't mind it at all and the little bristles inside are very soft.

Francie is a 10 lb. Maltese so the Petite pink one is perfect for her.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas! I have! Yesterday (Christmas Eve afternoon) we went with Auntie Jill out into the country to a little town called Birr where there is a really wonderful old-fashioned country general store called Legg's. They have the most awesome Christmas decorations and we bought some cute things to add to our collection as well as some of the very best butter tarts you could ever taste! I ran around outside in the little woods and Mom took some photos---of course! We went home and I helped Mom wrap some presents and we just had a lovely cozy Christmas Eve. Auntie Jill came over and we ate pizza and cake! SantyPaws came and I have some great new toys, clothes, and chewies. Today was fun as well and we are now all tired and lazy and very happy! I wish every little furbaby in the world could be as cherished and happy as I am! Tomorrow we are having our Christmas dinner---yum yum! I love turkey! God Bless us, one and all!
