Went to spring him from a local shelter for rescue and ended up adopting him instead.
Bio:
Midnight was first a stray then returned to the shelter before coming home with me. He didn't really know what affection was at first and it took several months before he realized he had a tail stub to wiggle. Now he's a complete Love Sponge.
5/12/09: It is with a broken heart that I write that my dear sweet boy, Midnight, died suddenly when out in the yard this morning for his potty romp. When he didn't come in with the others, my husband went out and found Lance sitting over Midnight, pawing or touching him, trying to wake him.
All I can guess is that his heart gave out. I am lost and cannot stop the tears, expecting to see the 'schippy light of my life' come bopping around the corner with his jaunty walk, or feel that cold snout in my eye when he'd investigate what I had eaten or just wanted to comfort me when I was down.
