Nicknames: Pookie, Shmuck, Sweetie Pie, Cutie, Smelly Poo, Muffin Bum, Monkey, Boo Boo, Bubbah, Poochie, Pittie Princess, Luviebumm, Zoomer, Sweet Pea, Bubbles.... I might as well not have an actual name for crying out loud!
Birthday: August 28th 2001
Likes: Chasing squirrels but never being able to catch one, scaring the living poop out of the pigeons, jumping at flies, barking aimlessly, curling my tail right in between my legs and crouching my bum real low and running around (I call these the "zoomies")
Pet-Peeves: Squirrels, Breed Specific Legislation, Michael Bryant, the balcony (too dang high!), annoying people that insult my kind because they don't know anything about us pitbulls, baths, raw veggies, oh and of course, the FedEx delivery guy!
Favorite Toy: A rubber chicken named quacker....yeah, he wishes he was a duck...
Favorite Food: Home cooked doggie food made by my mommy, raw food, and Timberwolf Organics dog food...yummmy!...ok I won't lie, I like tablescraps too!!!
Favorite Walk: Anywhere outside! Especially where there are lots of trees and tall grass in case I have the need to perform some major "zoomies"...don't want the hot dogs catching me in the act. That'd be embaressing for my ego.
Best Tricks: Tricks?....TRICKS?! Hey buddy, I don't DO tricks. I'm so fly, I'll have you running circles around my paw in no time. Don't talk to me about tricks. Do I look like you own me?!
Arrival Story: My ex owners, who were a pair of hitchikers from California, were asking people if they wanted me, because they could not travel with me everywhere around the country, so my mommy's father had picked me up and brought me home when he was on a trip. He did not want me to end up in the wrong hands or with an irresponsible owner that would probably breed me for the wrong reasons, or even use me for some terrible dog fighting!
I stayed with Violet (my mommy) ever since. I just wish I knew why my ex owners had to leave me like that. I was very sad at first but I wouldn't ask for anything better now. :) I know I am loved to bits.
Bio: Since winning the nobel prize in late 2004, Messina has moved onto an acting career and has starred in movies such as: "My Fair Doggy," and "The Nylabone Collector." She has also teamed up with various international singing sensations and has just recently released her very first record, "Mac Mommy Dawg," which features artists such as Terrier Trife, The Woof Gang, Mutha Hubbard, and of course, the famous Poo-Dizzle. Some of the songs featured on the CD include:
"Who Let The Cats Out?"
"I Would Bark 1000 Times"
"Leave Now, Mr.Postman!"
"Dog House Rock"
"Mark It Like Its Hot"
"Whoa Squirrel, Get Out Da Way"
And Many More......
Dudek, my little brother, although you were older, you were so small and sweet. So innocent and charismatic. Everyone loved you and all that you had to offer. Your love was so great, and it touched so many people that will forever keep you in their hearts...
You will be so dearly missed. May your soul rest in peace, and may you forever shine in the light of God. God bless your soul, my little angel.
I'm sooooo excited! Guess what guess what?! I GOT MY CGN...yup, all in one go...passed it the first time around! :)
What is the CGN you ask? Well, its short for Canine Good Neighbor - equivalent to the American Canine Good Citizen test :)
The Canadian Kennel Club will be sending me my official certificate shortly. Wow, can you believe it? They made me do all sorts of things, like walk around these orange pylons while they made noises and rattled squeaky teddy bears in my face and threw toys and loud thingamabobbers about. Then I had to go outside and behave - can you imagine? I had to walk nicely while these strange dogs barked about and all these new smells entered my nostrils. WOW, it was hard I gotta say, but I did well according to the examiner. My mom was very proud of me and she gave me tons of hugs and kisses and praises.
I'm glad you know? I feel good about this. Maybe people will begin to realize that not all us "Pit Bulls" are evil, mean, dogs....most of us are actually complete sweethearts. Which reminds me, there was another pittie at the CGN testing place too - she was also getting her certificate! Soooo proud :)
Well, that's about all I have to say for now. Mum says she's gonna look into the St. John's Ambulance program to see if I could qualify for doing my theraphy dog test. She doesn't really know anything about it yet but she's gonna find out and maybe one day I can help some folks who need a little extra attention from a gal like me. :)
As you may have known, or maybe not...but anyways...mum is a co-founder of the local "Pit Bull" Co-op group here in Toronto, Ontario. She uses the term "pit bull" very loosely, because she says there is no such pure bred.
So, the "Pit Bull" Co-op will be hosting a walkathon for Cystic Fibrosis on April 26th, 2008. Mum and I will be walking, so we hope that some people will be kind enough to sponsor us. All the money raised from the fees registered walkers must pay will go to a pit bull related cause (that is to be determined later on by a vote from all registered walkers).
All the money raised from sponsoring the walkers will go towards the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!
I'm super excited. This is a great cause, cuz all us pit bulls will be able to show everyone what we can really do, and how kind we really are. We're not all bad, and not all of our owners are evil gangsters!
If you'd like to sponsor mum and I via paypal, you can find our information here online (just scroll down the list of doggies until you see me, Messina):
