Arrival Story:
Our Rob is doing fantastic and now has a new friend! Her name is Briar Rose and we adopted her from rescue in Feb 2003. Briar was with a family that now has young children running around. She was doing a great job of herding them back to mom! We adore our new girl as much as our Rob. And they adore each other. Briar is absolutely ball crazy and we are looking into a local Fly Ball club in our area for an outlet for her. Rob is crazy about Briar and now has someone to chase. They are always running and playing. I have to say that two Border Collies are better than one!! It truly is easier with two. We just returned from Briar’s third camping trip. She enjoys the long hikes and the walks in the woods. Rob is still the fisherman! All you have to do is say the words “camp or fish” and they goes nuts. They know when we start loading up the van the we are heading to the mountains. It is all we can do to keep them from jumping in their crates, they can’t wait to go. We now have a mandatory “take the dogs camping weekend” every month. Briar Rose is the sweetest cuddling border collie in the world. She loves hugs and cuddles ALMOST as much as her ball. When you sit on the floor she will scoot her little body as close as she can get and wrap her neck over your shoulder to be hugged. She howls like an old coyote when she is happy! And is a very talkative young woman. Typically sassy she always wants the last word. She has one blue eye and one brown eye. Some people at the dog beach or camping see her catching and jumping for her ball, they ask "how can she catch so well when she is blind in one eye?" We always say "Amazing, isn't it!" And then we tell them that she sees perfect out of BOTH eyes. That's our Missy Blue Eye with the Bad Paint Job! We can’t say enough about BC Rescue and the work they do. We thank them for giving us the greatest gift, loving, wonderful and loyal friends!!!

We adore our rescued BC's but this is not the Breed for everyone. We thank ABCA and USBCHA for the work they do to ensure that this breed is maintained as a working dog. If you have the time to devote to a very active intelligent companion look into Border Collie rescue. Please do not support breeders not interested in helping keep this breed as it should be, a working dog first!!

We all went to the doc today. I had my annual blood work last month and that all came back perfect again! So my one kidney is working great too.

This trip us for a pedicure and refills on our summer meds. We all did good. I really like our Dr. she loves border collies and always gives us a cookie.

My darlin Briar Girl,

I will never forget when we first met you. How your previous owners had decided they didn't want you anymore and left you in the backyard while the two new puppies they did want had the run of the house. I can't understand how anyone couldn't love and care about you. You will never again have to worry about not being loved . You are my girlie girl pal and I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world!

There is nothing better than walking in the woods with you, playing a game of catch, cuddling on the couch or just sitting with you on the porch.

Thank you for allowing us to win your trust and devotion, for being my shadow. We love you so much!

This is a special Tail of Devotion

Mom is real happy too. I had to go to the vet to have blood work done. I have only one kidney now and they have to make sure it is working right. Everything checked out A okay! I had a bad kidney removed a little over a year ago.

Doc says I am a healthy and happy girl and can play ball and frisbee all I want! Woo Hoo!
