Arrival Story:
Rune came from a woman who no longer wanted her, and traded her for $50, which I honestly believe went to the purchase of some sort of drugs, because this woman was just not right in the head. Not only was she giving up a great dog, but she couldn't even formulate an entire sentence. So, Rune came to me terrified of everything, under-socialized to the max, and generally not well with the world that had locked her in a crate since she was 5 weeks old up until she turned 15 weeks. Now, she is a well socialized, warm, cuddle bug whose nickname has become 'Blanket'.
Bio:
"Rune rides the short bus," I explain to passers by as they widen their eyes at the sight of her standing tippy-toe in 3ft of water, her paws drawn up to her chin, trembling with anticipation. She is waiting for me to throw a rock into the water....so she can attempt to catch the ripples. She is afraid of walking on shiny surfaces. She is terrified of metallic feeding dishes, and would prefer to starve to death rather than eat/drink from one. Occasionally, trash cans freak her out...but only on certain days. She has the attention span of a hummingbird on crack. But, she is still the sweetest girl on the planet. I love her for it more every day.
