Quick Bio:

belly rubs and snuggling up on the sofa

She is really laid-back and easy-going. She doesn't like it when she gets into trouble over her paper fetish--she loves to eat paper towels, tissues, q-tips, etc.

Favorite Toy:
doesn't really have a favorite, but she really likes rawhide or bully sticks

Favorite Food:
she likes her dog food, Canidae Platinum, but dog & human treats are good too--especially popcorn, Cheez-its & goldfish crackers.

Best Tricks:
Speak and the Bichon Wave

Arrival Story:
Mommy got me from Small Paws Rescue (www.smallpawsrescue.org) when I was just 4-1/2 months old. Mommy thinks SPR is a great organization and she's made donations over the years to help other Bichon babies in need. I was born in a puppymill; Mommy says that is an awful place...I'm lucky since I don't remember much about it. All I know is I gots a great home :-) Mommy got me and Maggie within a week of one another. My sissy, Maggie, is also a rescue girl. Some idiot dumped her and her sissy on someone in a rural area when her was about 8 weeks old. Mommy's boyfriend at the time brought Maggie home to her. Me & Maggie's been best friends since we met, although I was a bit bashful and scared of her at first...but, really all she wanted was to play wif me. Mommy says she never planned on 2 PUPPIES, but it's worked out just great, and she can't imagine life without us girls :-)

Hot Dogs and hotdogs

Yesterday morning Mom took me and Maggie May to an event called Paws on the Pavement. It was a fundraiser for a local animal rescue group called CARE for Animals (www.careforanimals.org). We did a one-mile fun walk, but it was HOT. I got so hot that I actually laid down on the pavement a couple of times to let Mom know how hot I was, so her carried me a bit. She couldn't get me to drink any water out of a paper cup though. I wouldn't drink out of a plastic collapsible bowl either. I waited until we got to Mommy's car and I drank out of little bowl that her keeps in there. Maggie had her own little sorta meltdown on the walk, too. A couple of times she started that funny noise that sounds like she was hyper-ventilating, so Mommy had to carry her some, too. Well, at least we didn't embarrass Mommy by pooping....BOL!!!!

There were lots of doggies and peoples there....some really BIG doggies, too! We saw several Bichons. They had a pet psychic there, but we didn't visit her. They also had hotdogs, pizza and ice cream, but Mommy didn't let us have any of that. Guess what? Mommy forgot her camera, so we don't have any pictures of us....her cell phone has a camera, but she doesn't really know how to work it and it doesn't take that good of pictures anyway. They were doing micro-chipping for a $25 donation so Mommy got Maggie chipped (I already has one...gots it while I was out for my bladder stone surgery last year). I was proud of my sister....she acted scared, but she didn't cry even though her bleeded a little bit. After we cooled off in the car a little Mommy took us to the Farmer's Market downtown. So we walked around some more and saw lots more peoples and even a few more doggies. Some of the peoples wanted to pet us, including some little kids. Mommy bought some tomatoes and finally took us home. We was pooped out and ready for a nice nap with Mommy.

JR Angel

Our wonderfurl friend, JR, was always an angel, but he got his Official Angel Wings on January 14, 2008. What a sad time for his family and all of his friends at the BLC. We held a very nice candlelight memorial service for JR on Monday, January 21.

We all really miss JR....especially his mommy, Mary, and his kitty sister, Patches. Our hearts are broken and will take some time to heal, but we are happy that JR is now free of sickness and pain and is blitzing, once again, at the Rainbow Bridge with St. Frank and all of our beloved furry companions that went before him. Although JR would not want us to be sad, we can't help it. We know that in time the sadness will ease and be replaced with wonderfurl memories of JR. When the time is right, we hope that JR's mom and Patches will open their home and hearts to another dog. They have so much love to give and JR wouldn't want it any other way.

Mary, thank you for sharing JR with all of us....we are better for having known such a sweet pup. JR, our Guardian Angel, thanks for watching over all of us from above....you are FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS and we WUV you, buddy!!!

The Power Of The Dog
by Rudyard Kipling

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and Sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.
Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie--
Perfect passion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart for a dog to tear.

When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find--it's your own affair--
But...you've given your heart for a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!);
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone--wherever it goes--for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart for the dog to tear.

We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept 'em, the more do we grieve:
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-time loan is as bad as a long--
So why in Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

TAG.......You're IT!!!!!!!!!!

I've been tagged by my wonderful pals, Sugarbear, Bailey, Shana and JR...to join in this game. Tag you're it...........

Here are the rules:

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary!!!

My Facts:

1. Dogster RULES!! Me, my mommy and sissy, Maggie May, have met so many nice pups and their pawrents here. Everyone over at the BLC was so supportive for us when I had to have emergency surgery for bladder stones in March.

2. I love to eat and live for my treats!! Mommy gives me pills for my allergies every day and she smushes them into little pieces of bread and tells me that they're "treats"; she asks me if I want a "pill treat" and I'm all ears.

3. My favorite position is laying on my back with my tummy exposed for belly rubs :-)

4. I LOVES bully sticks and will "speak" and do the Bichon wave for them. All Mommy has to say is, "Who wants a chewy stick?"

5. I loves my sissy, Maggie May, and she loves me. Mommy got both of us within one week and we's been best girlfriends ever since....well, after I got over being scared and overwhelmed by Maggie....I finally figured out that she just wanted to play with me.

6. I don't really like going outside in when it's raining and I'm not too fond of having to stand still for Mommy to wipe my wet feet when I come inside....I want to go straight to my food bowl ASAP....BOL!!!

7. When Mommy asks me to give her a kiss, I give her a gentle lick on the nose! I loves my mommy and she loves me and Maggie May.

I am tagging the following pups: Missy, Princess, Tess, Sonny Pereira, Bubu, Chester and Sugar!

Have fun, everyone! TAG.....you're IT!!!

Love, Kayleigh
