Arrival Story:
She refused to look at me when I first saw her at the pound, which of course sparked the initial and immediate challenge/competition of Who Can Get Who to Pay More Attention to the Other Without Even Trying, which thus far I am losing at miserably. She was low that day--real low. Which is why she is named after blues singer Bessie Smith. And which is why it seemed imperative to adopt her right there and then.
Bio:
Bessie's a dog who thinks she's a cat. She's sly that way. Sly and subdued. She's not one for gratuitous shows of affection or interest. If you get a kiss, you'll know it means something. She's an old girl, and a bit on the shy side. But she's got personality to spare and once she gets to know you, she's a regular love monkey.
