Arrival Story:
Odie was turned into rescue (a small dog rescue first) because they said he was "too old to take care of anymore". I don't know what that means, but he went from that rescue into IGCA's rescue for purebred Italian greyhounds...he was in a foster home where he really didn't fit in. I had gone to meet his prev. foster mom to pick up another foster I was taking. I saw Odie and it was love at first sight. I took him home with us, and after almost a year of no one wanting to adopt him because of his age (he'll be 11 this year), we decided he should stay with us. He is so addicted to me, and vice versa, he's my special old man. I learned what many people have said, "once you adopt a senior, you're hooked". Ever since then, I've told people over and over, you haven't met your soulmate til' you've adopted a senior rescue dog. I HIGHLY recommend it. They're absolute angels, and I SWEAR, they know how much it means that you want them, even tho' they're not puppies anymore...it warms the heart like nothing else. :)

Bio:
Odie came to me with almost NO hair. I can only guess it was stress related because since last March when we got him, he's grown a lot of hair back! He has some arthritis and is getting a bit of blurred vision, but he's probably the happiest now than he has been his whole life. I know he'd always been an only dog in his former home from what I saw on his vet/rescue papers, so he's loving having iggie (and crested and husky) siblings to snuggle with.
