A Pound Purries stuffed animal he stole off my bed
Coffee, Potato Chips
Back to the couch, to sleep
He could sit up on his hind legs and beg. We called it "sit pretty." He eventually did it whenever he wanted something. Belly rub, food, to play, etc. He also would stand on his head and quack like a duck.
We hadn't had a dog in years, after our cocker spaniel had been stolen out of our yard. Then my aunt moved in with us for a while and she had a chihuahua named Babies. When they moved out, I guess my mom finally missed having a dog around and they went and adopted Murphy from a nearby farm. We figure that's why he didn't know what kind of animal he was...he slept on the back of the couch like a cat, stood up on his hindquarters like a groundhog, and quacked like a duck...!
Murph loved to open Christmas presents. Even if they weren't for him, he'd be happy to help you out. If it was for him, a bone or something, he would chew it happily for a few minutes, then he would 'hide' it somewhere in the house. Only he wasn't very good at hiding. He would hide it behind a laundry basket, which, eventually would get picked up. Or he'd hide it behind a chair, but the chair would be on an angle so it was visible. If you went and stood by the bone and looked at it, he would give a big "sigh" and trudge over there to move it.
Leave me 'lone I'm sleepin
