Arrival Story:
I found her running in the middle of traffic with a huge boat anchor chain wired to her neck with electrical wire. It took me an hour or so, but I was able to lure her with a roasted chicken I just happened to have in the car... luckily I had just been grocery shopping and saw her on my way home. She was super stinky and dirty, so the first order of business was to give her a bath. She hated every minute of it, but I told her that baths are good because it means she belongs to someone if they bother to bathe her, and that it is just part of being part of a family. I told her that everyone loves to pet and kiss a nice clean dog, so she will get lots of kisses. I told her this every time she had a bath for the rest of her life, and reminded her that it means she is part of a real family. She never liked getting a bath, but she always seemed to be more willing to endure one when I reminded her of that first bath we had together and why it was a good thing. I will miss her forever.
