Arrival Story:
She was a stray at my shelter. She barked, growled, snarled, and lunged at everyone that passed by or stopped near her kennel. One day I stopped to admire the pretty red dog and she showed me all her teeth and growled fiercely. I said something like "why are you so grumpy?", in a sweet voice and she stopped, cocked her head, stepped back, and wagged her tail! I took that as an invitation and stepped into her kennel. We stared at each other for a minute and then she smiled, wagged her tail, and bumped my hand for a pet on the head before stepping away again. Long story short, on the condition from my manager that she not bite the health tech during her exam, she was accepted by Family Dogs New Life Shelter. I told them to adopt her out if they could because I could not have a dog at the time, but they said she was too aggressive to visitors. So she lived in a pack with daycare and boarding dogs for a YEAR. She played with other dogs and waited for me. The beautiful sunny day that I brought her home forever was one of the happiest of my life. Not knowing what to expect from her, I crated her the first night. On the second night, while my husband and I fluffed the blankets to make the bed, she dove under the covers and settled down with a deep and contented sigh. For the last five years, that is where she has slept and kept our feet warm. She is the love of my life and the apple of my eye and I cannot imagine daily life without her.

Bio:
Whew, enough of the mushy stuff! Fast forward to the present: Cedar Ann Red Dog has gone from a snarling shelter stray to a Mixed Breed Champion! In 2006, Cedar earned her title of Champion from the Mixed Breed Dog Club of Oregon. She further has earned her Mixed Breed Companion Dog Title (MB-CD) and her Mixed Breed Rally Novice Title (MB-RN). She is the dog of my soul...

About 4:30 this morning, my foster sister Lily heard someone outside trying to get into Dad's work truck!! When Dad stepped out on the porch to yell at the guy, I slipped past him and grabbed him by his pants!! I was MAD!! The guy kicked me and ran off, but I wasnt going to let him get away that easy! I chased him down the street and into the middle of another road before I was able to grab him again and this time I wasnt going to let go for nothing!! Before I knew it, Dad was pulling me off him and the guys in uniforms came and shot him with electricity!!! My dad said I was a hero and the cops said I would make a good police dog!! I didnt hurt the guy though, all I got was a mouthful of pants...
I love my home and wont let anyone hurt my family or their stuff!!!
