Arrival Story:
I was looking for a dog the summer before I started vet school. I knew I wanted a smaller dog, and I love herding breeds, so I started looking at Shelties and corgis. I browsed Petfinder and the classifieds for a few weeks, until one day I found Winnie in the paper. She was 10 months old and already spayed, and she was originally from a reputable breeder. We went to visit her and found that her owners were keeping her in an outdoor kennel (due to "allergy problems"), she wasn't housebroken, and she was sharing her home with a 2-year-old (guess which one got more attention?). She was darling, albeit a little hyper and not housebroken. We took her home the next week and she has been part of the family ever since!
