Arrival Story:
My husband and I were strolling through PetSmart one day and saw two young girls walking a very thin, gangling looking grey dog with a moth-eaten coat and amber eyes. It was adoption day at PetSmart, so I inquired with the two girls if this sickly little dog was one of the ones up for adoption. They told me she was, which was a good thing as I would have given them an earful as to the condition of the pup had they said she was their pet! We filled out the necessary paperwork, even though there was somone who said they wanted to adopt her. I waited a few days before calling the rescue to see if she was still available, and she was, so I went down to pick her up. She was literally bouncing off the walls when I arrived, had no manners and wasn't potty trained (at six months old). I started to second guess whether or not we were doing the right thing by adopting this horrid little dog...yet I still bundled her up and brought her home. It was a good year before she was totally house broken and not biting uncontrollably, and I'm so thankful that I gave her a chance, because she's the sweetest most affectionate dog one could ask for! She still has her quirks, but at least she's somewhat sane now. ;-)

Bio:
Inca was picked up from a neglectful home by the rescue we adopted her from. Apparently Inca was purchased as a puppy by a college student who kept her in a dorm room. When Inca's energy level became too much for her to handle, she shoved Inca off onto her mom. The student's mother didn't care for her at all, and it was obvious in Inca's poor condition at the time she was picked up by the rescue. Inca was passed around through four foster homes due to her uncontrollable nature before we adopted her. With a whole lot of time and patience, she's become a wonderful dog and companion to my husband and I as well as our other two dogs.
