A beautiful poem

I just wanted to share this beautiful poem that was sent to us by our wonderful friend Shiyan and her mommy Donna.

Do Not Grieve for Me

Do not grieve for me, my friend, as I am with my kind....

My collar is a rainbow's hue, my leash a shooting star.
My boundaries are the Milky Way, where I sparkle from afar...
There are no pens or kennels here, for I am not confined-
But free to roam God's Heavens among my special kind.

I nap the day on a snowy cloud with gentle breezes rocking me.
I dream the dreams of earthlings, and how it used to be.
The trees are full of liver treats, and tennis balls abound.
Milk bones line the walking ways just waiting to be found.

There even is a ring set up, the grass all lush and green-
and everyone who gaits around becomes the Best of Breed.
For we're all winners in this place, we have no faults you see.
God passes out the ribbons, to each one- even me!

At night I sleep in Angel's arms, their wings protecting me,
and moonbeams dance about us, as stardust falls on thee.
So when your life on earth is spent and you reach Heaven's Gate,
have no fear of loneliness- for here you know I wait.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved dog Bonnie.
This morning we took Bonnie in to the vet to end her suffering and she crossed the rainbow bridge at around 11am.

We would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers and support during this difficult time. It is so appreciated.

Update from the vet

Hi everyone

After speaking with the vet late yesterday my family has decided on pallative care for me. It is end of days for me but as long as I am comfortable and not suffering that is the main thing. The vet is close by so my family can drop in any time with me so they can keep a close eye on me.
Doing any chemo or radiation isn't going to be an option for me.
As it stands, I am still eating and drinking and love going to the park. I am still a happy girl and am enjoying my last days with my family.
We don't know how long it will be but we will take each day as it comes.

Thank you to all my furends for their love, prayers and support, for the rosettes, gifts, stars, and for signing my bark box and guest book and for the lovely pawmails. Me and my family appreciate the love and support.

Love Bonnie

Also for all the beautiful stars, rosettes and gifts everyone has given me. They mean so much to me.
And thank you to all who have signed my guestbook or barked a message on my bark box.
You are all pawsome and I appreciate it so much!

My mom just made a call to my vet to find out my test results. The had nothing in at the office so they are going to call the lab and then call my mom back with the results.
Things aren't looking good for me. My neck has so many lumps now it is unbelievable. The vet is sure the cancer is into my lungs.
We will be glad to get some test results back that is for sure.

Thank you again to all my wonderful furends. I love you all.

Update on me and Sassy too

Hi everyone

Well I am hanging in there. I do get shortness of breath but I did okay at the dog park. That is my favorite place and even though I was not as active as I usually am at the park I had so much fun. I am glad my family took me there.

As for Sassy we didn't get her. My dad called her dad on Saturday and he said that he and his wife were sick and it wouldn't be a good day to pick up Sassy so he said maybe next weekend.
We are all disappointed. We were so looking forward to getting her.

Thank you to all who have said prayers for me, sent me get well pawmails, and for the beautiful gifts, stars and rosettes. Your love, prayers and support mean so much to me and my family.
You are all so special to me and I am so lucky to have so many special furends.

News on Bonnie

Bonnie has had her vet appointment today and I wish the news were better.
The vet and I both agree it is most likely lymphosarcoma, cancer.
It is spreading rapidly and she now has lumps all through her neck and groin, she is still panting sometimes, and not eating much but she does eat.
Blood tests were done today so we will know exactly what we are dealing with. The results will be in on Monday and then we can make decisions on what to do.

In the meantime we were surprised when the other day we were offered another dog. She is a beautiful purebred bullmastiff named Sassy who is 6 years old. She is a retired Canadian champion show dog. I will be making her a website on here tomorrow. This will be good for Bonnie as she loves other dogs and just perks up whenever there is another dog around. Also, as the vet said, it is good for Hoover to have to share me since he can get kind of possessive of me sometimes :)

I do want to thank everyone for the lovely pawmails of support, the rosettes, stars and gifts.
You are all pawsome and we all appreciate it very much.
I will update her diary on Monday once we have her results.

Love

Vet time

Well I am booked in to see the vet next week unless I stop eating or drinking or start acting really sick then I will go in sooner.
My mom starting noticing that I was losing weight and not eating much. Then the past few days she noticed me panting quite a bit and thought that was odd since the house isn't that warm inside. Then last night my dad noticed a lump in my neck the size of an egg.
There are several possibilities that it might be so I am going to the vet on the 15th to get it checked out.

I would also like to thank my furends for the lovely stars, rosettes, pawmails and for signing my guest book. You are all pawsome!
