Arrival Story:
Well, I heard my Dads talking and they said they got me to make our family complete and to help my big brother, Boomer, with his depression after HIS big brother passed away. I didn't know they were going to be my new family at the time, but they came to my foster Mom's house to meet me. I met my Dad at the front door and jumped right up on him. He fell in love with me right away, I could tell! Then my new bro was brought in and we started playin' right away. We got along great! So my dads said I was the perfect fit for their family and they had already been approved by Dallas/Fort Worth Labrador Retriever Rescue so I went to my forever home that night! Now I have a family! I love it! My brother and I play until we're so tired that we just flop down on the floor cuz we can't go any more. Boomer thought it was funny when we got home, cuz the first two days I was here, I fell in the pool 3 times. Can you believe it?! I don't know what was wrong with me; I guess I was just so excited! Big bro told me that he overheard my dads talking one night and they said that I was saved from a shelter by DFW Lab Rescue! I was going to be euthanized, whatever that means, he said. Why would a great dog like a Lab need rescuing? We can't figure it out!
Anyway, I remember my first home had a really short 3 foot fence and I could jump it, so I would. I would go explore and the humans out there didn't like that, so they would take me to the pound and call my parents and they would have to come and get me. Finally, one day they just didn't come for me. I don't know why. I don't understand what I did wrong. Well eventually I was sent to another shelter or two, I don't remember. Then the nice people from Dallas/Fort Worth Lab Rescue came to get me cuz they heard I was going to be put down, I'm not sure what that means, though. Anyway, I overheard my Dads talking to one of their friends one day telling a story about ME! They said that my original family left me outside with the other dogs that were smaller than me and I would jump that little ol' fence. My humans at the time said they couldn't afford to bail me out anymore from the pound. And they said they couldn't afford to build a 6 foot fence for me either. So they just didn't come get me anymore! I don't understand what I did! Maybe it's cause I heard my dads talking 'bout me being special. Something about being a "Dudley" and pink noses and stuff. Well, that's the story of my time here so far. That's alot of stuff to happen in such a short period of time, huh? I wish my old family hadn't given up on me, but I have my new forever family now! I get to play and play and play and live in the house and even sleep on the bed with my whole family! I love it here! Speaking of, I see a brother that needs wrestlin'!
