Arrival Story:
Macy (formerly named Libby) found her humans when she was just a 9-month-old pup at the local humane society. Supposedly dropped off at the shelter for being destructive, it turned out all she needed was exercise and a job to do.

Bio:
After completing basic obedience courses, Macy was ready for more formal schooling. Flyball seemed a great place for her to channel some of her abundant energy and enthusiasm. After about of year of training, she began racing competatively in te fall of 2005. In additon to flyball, Macy is an excellent companion to her family's two young sons, who adore the former pound puppy. Macy loves long walks (watch out squirrels!) and enjoys visits to the dog park and the beach. She lives for someone...anyone... to throw a tennis ball for her. Her favorite activity would probably be swimming -- regardless of the weather.

Winter is flying by

I can't believe February is almost over. Today it feels more like spring-almost 70 degrees here in the mid-atlantic. Makes me wanna go outside and just roll around in the grass. We have that here now. All the snow from our January 26 storm is just about gone.

Not much going on right now. I'm enjoying being at the top of the pack and entering my senior years. Mom says she'll get me into some Rally classes soon. That should be nice. Hunny has two legs towards her 1st title and Mom just needs to get some time to finish that up. It'll be fun to get back out and about again.

End of the year and new beginnings!

It's been awhile since the last posting but that's the kinda year it's been :)

Mom and the rest of the gang had a great summer and an even better fall. The rescue where Hunny came from, Northern Virginia Sheltie Rescue, called us in late August about another young Sheltie in need, Pepper.

Long story short, Mom invited him over for a long weekend stay with us in September, then a longer week-long stay in October while Pepper's foster mom went on vacation. After all that visiting and having fun with us, Mom decided he could stay.

Now we're a happy pack of 4! Can't believe our family's gotten so big but it's fun having a younger dog in the house again.

We're looking forward to the holidays and hopefully some more snow! Who knows what the new year will bring but we're grateful now for a good year with our friends and family.

It's been a looong time

Wow, didn't realize how long it's been since Mom made an update to my page. With work, kids, that crazy snowmageddon back in February (and dog activities mixed in) time flies!

I'm still hanging out, enjoying my retirement. My health is great...just had another b-day back in December and I'm 9 years old now. Except for the problems when I tried to play flyball, you'd never know I had any problems with my joints and neck. Mom's good about keeping my weight down, provides a supportive diet, and gives me several comfortable places to hang out and sleep. Oh yeah, and the exercise, too.

On our neighborhood front, we have a new grooming place that opened down the street from us. It's called "Woof"! A very nice lady named Jessica and her family/friends opened this gem not too long ago. We love Jessica and she gives the best baths around! She's awesome with a pair of scissors and knows how to make a muttly black dog feel like lady! (She's not too shabby with the terrier and sheltie, either, BOL) She even does CATS! I love them but for some reason Jessica always has me sequestered from them (darn it!)

Well, that's about it for now. Until next time, enjoy all of this nice weather we're finally having in the Mid-Atlantic area!
