Arrival Story:
In college, I volunteered with Columbia Second Chance in Columbia, Missouri. There I met a lot of wonderful homeless dogs, among them Katy, who was about a year old at the time. Katy was my favorite ranch dog, and it was so hard saying goodbye to her when I graduated! After college, I moved to Memphis and decided it was time to bring a dog into my life. There really wasn't any choice... I drove back to Missouri to pick Katy up in January '07.

Katy-did LOVES the snow. It snowed several inches this afternoon, and to my surprise, the dog who doesn't like to get her paws wet or her nose cold went straight outside, laid down it it, and buried her nose in it!
Perhaps it reminds her of her puppyhood in Missouri?

Katy is laying down in 75% of her dogster photos. In real life, the lazy bum is laying around about 95% of the time!

Just a quick update. It's starting to get warm outside, so every time Katy is out in it, she just acts like she can barely move! I keep telling her that if she thinks this is bad, wait until summer really hits. Of course, she cannot understand me, for she is a dog.
I think we had a breakthrough this weekend! We were putting an arbor up in our yard, and the next door neighbor (whom Katy has met a few times) came over to see. Katy didn't bark once, and she went over to let the woman pet her!
Did I mention in the last entry that we've started to go to the park almost every day? Katy adores it, and I like hanging out with the other owners. Some of our park buddies are already on Dogster, and we've been pestering those that aren't to get on here, too. :-)
