Arrival Story:
My new family wanted a another Cardi, as they had two older ones that had passed away at the start of the year. They found a breeder, and had to wait 6 months for me. They wanted a sister for me, but she was taken, so she was offered a little brother and they took him. I have only been in my new home for 1 day but I am loving it, plus I have some special other brothers and sisters, they dont look like me , but we all get on.

Taylor's story....

This may be a little long but I think I need to write this...

On the 15th February, we took Taylor to the vets.
She was not sick in the any way, but....this is her story..

She was about 18 months to 2 years old when we notice her scared of EVERYTHING, any noise, even noise you could not hear...It was if she woke one morning and she was this other dog...
I wrote about this in her diary.
But she was not aggressive to any of the dogs.....

As for people will she LOVED EVERYBODY, a beautiful personality.
She was a perfect dog to take out, or take for a walk.

Over the time with trips back and forth to the vets to see if we could help her. Nothing helped her we tried so many things. In the end we made the decision to just leave it and see how we went.
Some days is was so heart wrenching to see her so scared, but then the next moment she would be playing and beautiful...

Over the time we adopted Wags, Nikky and Star. She accepted them. No problems at all....

About 2 years ago she got hold of Nikky around the neck and she ended up in hospital with wounds around her neck....When we bought Nikky home Taylor wanted to play with her as if nothing had happen
Taylor just had one of her.."brain snaps"..and then there were many more
It got to the point the others did not know if Taylor was going to hurt them or play with them.

I had shed many, many tears because of it, just seeing the way Taylor looked so scared most of the time....

My husband and I often talk about should we let her go so as to put to rest or what.....but that was all we ever did.

About 3 weeks before the 15th Feb, I said to my Hubby,...
I can't explain it but there is something wrong with Taylor, call it a gut feeling but there was something different about her, not in her behaviour or the way she look...it was just something.

About two weeks later she had ago at Star......

We could not let this go on, for her own health..

On the 15th (Saturday) we had a good chat with the vet, to see if we could try again to help her...

As Taylor had never had any fits or seizures he said we could try as if she had epilepsy. He explain what it was and what it does to a dog, and we could try this drug. If they had liver problems it would make it worst or it could develop liver problems, and she had either.
We made the decision for her to go on the drug.
We had a strict guide what to look for and side affects.

The following Sunday she ate about 3/4 of her dinner, and went into a very deep sleep.
On Monday she sleep a more than she normally does and did not eat her dinner
On Tuesday I rung the vet and told what was going on. I had to bring her down for bloods tests and stop the medication.
We got a call late Tuesday night to come into the surgery the next day without Taylor.
So Early Wednesday morning we saw the vet and all was not good.
Her liver results were down low, her platelets were very low, cant remember what the third thing was very low also.

All this happen to fast to put the blame the drug she was on.

We rush home and took her to their main surgery.

By late afternoon the vet phone and told us as will as liver failure she had pancreaticis. We just could not believe it.
They put her on antibiotics for infection....

On Thursday she was still holding her own...even sat up for a little while.

On Friday we had a call later in the afternoon.....she was not doing very good, we might have to made a decision for her. ....She was not in any pain. Then no sooner had I hung up the vet phone back and said she had started vomiting blood.....

My daughter Kimberley(vet nurse) was working. It was so fast that we would not make it up to the clinic in time.....

Kimberley was with her when she last shut her eyes...

My vet has been one for 38 years and he has never seen what he saw in Taylor. None of her symptoms point to any one thing that caused her to get so ill so fast, and it made no sense why she even had the problems she had.

It will stay a mystery....I would like to know what happen to her, if I keep thinking "what if" it won't any good....

I just very very happy we have a wonderful vet, that looked after Taylor and keep us informed all the way....

I could write so much more but I think the tears are about to come...

All I know Taylor, My Princess is at rest now, and all her Demons that was in her head are now gone and she having a wonderful life with her FurFamily at Rainbow Bridge.

My Sweet Angel will be coming home very soon......
