I can hardly imagine life away from Bideawee. The staff has been caring for me for three years now. While they love me very much and do their best to make me happy, there is just no place like a real home.
I have been on my best behavior these last three years. Most dogs would act out, or get very depressed, if they were orphaned for so long. But I know how lucky I am and I am grateful – every time I see my human friends, I wiggle my whole body, thump my tail, and give kisses. Still, no matter how hard I try to show that I am a good dog, no one seems to want me.
Maybe I’m not the easiest dog to care for. Because I can get itchy from allergies, I eat a prescription food, plus I need weekly baths to soothe my skin. The way I look might intimidate some people, since I am partly pit-bull terrier. And while I am fairly petite, I have lots of energy and could play and exercise all day long.
I’ve watched my doggie pals come and go, but I have been here the longest of all. The staff moved me from Manhattan to Long Island so that different families can meet me. So here I am at the Bideawee in Wantagh, waiting for you... dreaming of the day that I belong to a real family and have a home to call my own.
