Well she is just getting through her first heat & she was such a mellower pup during that time, she's starting to get her chaos back now. Updating - she did get her first AKC point at Yakima 3 weeks ago! Another show this weekend. I'll try and post some more pictures, she's probably about 100 lbs now and alot bigger, but still not as big as the adults!

Last weekend Ivy went up to Cananda with Alison (Keymaster Danes) to participate in a Canadian dog/puppy show. Ivy had a blast camping with her brother Mac, Aunt Envy, and Alison and did well in the ring.

We have high hopes for our little girl. We already know she's the best puppers in the world...but now some other folks are starting to see it too. :)

Photo added.

Graduation!

Ivy graduated from Puppy Class last night! She's learned Sit, Down, Stand, Stay, Recall, Drop It, and some leash training. She also tied with her friend Otis as the "Most Improved Puppy" - but if you ask me she was always super smart. I think folks got "most improved" mixed up with "most gigantic". ;)

At home we've also been teaching Ivy to hit the little bells we have hanging from the backdoors to let us know when she needs to go outside. She's using them most of the time which is pretty great.

Last week we took Ivy to Lincoln Park and got some great shots of her. I'll post them soon so you can all see how big she's getting and how absolutely adorable her yittle face is!

School Time!

Ivy has attentded two of her puppy classes so far. Tonight is number 3. She's really smart and has "Sit", "Down", and "Stand" pretty much down. As long as there are no distractions she responds quickly. The class is for pups under 18 weeks, which for most breeds means that the little guys are still pretty small. For Ivy it means that she towers over the other puppies and she adjusts her play accordingly. It's really great to see her running around with the gang and having a good time. We just have to break her habit of running between people's legs....which is kind of cute now....but will be painful when she gets a little bit taller.

The classes are at Seattle Dog Works and we would totally recommend these guys to other folks. The trainers are all really great and the owner, Christine, is a hoot.

In other news Ivy had her first appointment with the fabulous Dr.Iverson on Saturday. Other than some puppy acne (aw!) and needing her nails trimmed she looks good. She's 50 pounds now! No wonder I can't move her off of the couch anymore.

Brother, Aunt and Ivy all went to a puppy fun match at a working dog show in Sumner WA. She and brother pranced around the ring and looked really good to me. Ivy has never had a collar on like the show collar so she kicked a little here & there. She did well with all the other bigger dogs around. She was the 2nd smallest dog in the whole place. After a few minutes she got pretty relaxed around all the chaos unless a dog barked directly at her, which was good. Looking at the adult Danes, I still cant believe our little dog will get that big!

Seward Park Trip

On Saturday we took Ivy to Seward Park for her first real park adventure. We got lots of stares, mostly at her paws which are huge, and several people asked if she was a Weimaraner. Most folks seem to think she was as adorable as we do....some folks seemed "concerned". ;)

Then we met up with two sweet women with a super cute collie/hound dog mix puppy that was the same age and surprising the same size as Ivy! The two pups played and played and played. It's was really nice to see Ivy playing with another dog again. She hasn't had a playmate since she left the litter and I could tell that she really enjoyed it.

The funny thing was that this other puppy...a collie...pinned Ivy every time. They would wrestle and then Ivy would roll over onto her back and submit. She's supposed to be growing into a big great dane...and yet she's the biggest softy.

I'll post the pictures later.
