Arrival Story:
A breeder from New Jersey kept him to breed his female dobie. Unfortunately, the female refused to have him in the house and was constantly attacking him. He needed a new home and we welcomed him into ours.

Bio:
Mickey died on January 26, 2002 at six years of age. He was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy (enlargement of the heart - common in his breed) in October 2001 and lived only four months after. He died peacefully in his sleep at the hospital. Though he is no longer in our lives, he will live forever in our hearts. We still miss him so.

I live among God's creatures now
in the heavens of your mind
So do not grieve for me my friend
as I am with my kind.

My collar is a rainbow's hue
my leash a shooting star
My boundaries are the Milky Way
where I sparkle from afar.

There are no pens and kennels here
for I am not confined
But free to roam God's heavens
among the Dobie kind.

The trees are full of liver treats
and tennis balls abound
Milkbones line the walkways
just waiting to be found.

At night I sleep in an angel's arms
her wings protecting me
And moonbeams dance above us
as stardust falls on me.

So when your life on earth is spent
and you stand at Heaven's Gate
Have no fear of loneliness
for here you know I wait.
