Arrival Story:
My roommate wanted a dog. I picked a grey lab-mix but she was already taken. Merle was a tiny shy thing stuffed in the back of a pen full of rowdy pit-bull puppies. They were calling her "Sabine" ~ we knew she had to be saved from this. So we brought her home. My roommate renamed her "Merle" because under "color" that's what it said on her tag. I know. I'm not responsible.
Bio:
Let it not go unsaid that Merle was the sweetest, most obedient dog I have ever had; a one-of-a-kind. She deserved to live a much longer, fuller life than she had. I hope wherever her spirit is, it's with Babbit again, and the two of them are racing through the happy hunting grounds chasing squirrels together.
