Bio:
Unfortunately Sabian is no longer with us. It was with a heavy heart that we were forced to put him down on February 17th 2006. He was the best dog I could have ever asked for. In october of 2005 we found a mass in his abdomen. After a vet visit, it quickly became clear, it was very bad. Sonagrams showed he had a tumor fully involving one kidney and wrapped around his other. It had also grown around his aorta. With one kidney not functioning, we were faced with the decision to operate or not. We opted to not have surgery done, as we felt this would only put him through more undo pain. The vet thought it far more humane to let him live out his life with us, loved and as happy as he could be. Loving him and being loved by him was a blessing for us. He lived happily for the next four months. He was spoiled rotten by anyone who came in contact with him. He was a very social boy and happily enjoyed affection from anyone and everyone. The last month or two were by far the worst. And it killed us everyday to know what we would one day have to do. We did not want that day to ever come. I did not want to have to make the decision and then second guess myself. I asked the vet how I will know and she said that Sabian would let me know when it was time. And he did. It was terribly tramatic to have to see my happy boy reduced to sad eyes and a look of almost fear. But we did it, and I do not regret having sabian. He was a sick dog but he was the best and for that I am grateful. Being our first dog, he was spoiled, and loved beyond most peoples understanding. I am sure people cannot understand the grief, unless they have been through it, but it is even now still just under the surface. Well he wasn’t just a dog, he was my dog. And he wasn’t just a sick dog he was Sabian AKA “Pigger” and he will be missed by all who knew him. We weren’t the only ones to continue to shed tears for him. But I can tell you we shed the most.
