Best Tricks: I go peek into a room when I hear my name, I figure I should pace myself with all that learning business ;) Arrival Story: Lizzie spent the first 5 years of her life in a puppy mill in Ohio. From there she was rescued and brought here to Michigan. From what we can tell she was abused and/or ignored by the people and has little trust in people. She has gotten better and is following Indiana's lead that we really are Ok. She now will approach us and allow herself to be petted without cowering when you reach your hand out. Bio: Lizzie has now taken over as the alpha of the pups in our home. With Indiana's recent injury he's pretty much lost his top dog status, at least for now. Lizzie has stepped in and started acting like the pup I knew she had in her. She plays and runs and has even gotten a bit more outspoken about the punctuality or lack of it when it comes to her getting her food. Christmas, big deal. Mom was in a pet exchange with some other furparents so we did get some cool things but if Christmas means I have to go expose myself in this nasty, cold snowy weather to go potty I think I'll pass. Doesn't anyone realize I'm the queen and queen's don't go outside in the freezing cold for anything? I should be provided a nice indoor potty area where its warm, thats what I think anyway. No one around here seems to think so unfortunately so I'm stuck going outside.
Cold aside things have been great in the new place, I have my own couch that I occasionally share with my mom with lots of blankets to burrow in, Maggie has finally stopped being a dork and she plays with me and there are plenty of snacks so its all good. This place also has this super cool thing, dad calls is a babysitter whatever that is. All i know is it blows super warm comfy air and I like to lay infront of it when its on.
Its been just over 6 months now since I got to my new furever home and what a great time I'm having :) Mom and dad have been pretty patient with me but I get bored easily and started trying to eat the floor so I now have to be crated during the day while they work, what a bummer. Mom was nice and got me a HUGE crate so I have plenty of space to move around and I have a pillow and a nice comfy blanket so its not as bad as I tell mom it is ;) Now that I'm learning what isn't a good thing to chew on they've been allowing me to stay out of the crate when they're gone for short periods so I can lay on the couch and keep an eye on my troublemaker brother Indiana.
Oh! I almost forgot, I learned something new... I mean, I'm still working on it but I've figured out stairs! When I first saw them I thought jumping the whole set of them would be a good idea, good thing mom was there to catch me before I landed, but now I can handle the 5 stairs out of our house pretty well to go on walks.
Mom also said we're going to be moving soon and I'll have to be on my best behavior for that. I don't quite understand all that mom and dad talk about with the move but I have figured out the part where they said "NO MORE SNOW" Thank GOODNESS!!! I hate snow and cold. I couldn't believe they expected me to go potty outside in February when it was cold and windy while they got to use that nice warm room inside
Slowly I'm starting to get the hang of being a spoiled indoor dog. I've found Indiana's rope toy and decided that's not too bad because mom lets me get away with pulling it apart, fun! The rest of those things Indy has though, they are all too noisy. I wish he'd be quieter with toys, doesn't he understand I need my beauty sleep? Probably not, boys. Mom has found some nice people online who also have dogs from puppy mills so she can talk to them about what to try to teach me to go outside, what she secretly doesn't know is I "get" going outside, I just don't see the point. Its cold out there, how would she like it if she had to go outside? She gets a nice room in the house for that with a weird chair thing. If I could get up on that chair I'd give it a try, really I would. :P
Mom also got me a new place to sleep. I was using Indiana's bed since he doesn't, but mom came home the other day and was pretty upset and then she went to the store to get this new bed thing. I can't understand why she was upset, I didn't like the music selection so I took the thingy out of the player and tried to put some new discs in of some better music. Anyway, I can't decide if I like this new thing mom bought for me to sleep in. It looks alot like that nasty cage I used to live it only mom doesn't shut the door so I can walk out if I want to. Its also much nicer inside, I have a big fluffy pillow and my blankets inside so its like my own room. Extra bonus that Indiana won't come inside so he leaves me alone when I'm in there. Speaking of my brother, did you all know he's in a contest?? How fun for him, mom said she is trying to get more pictures of me for the next one... pictures? Is THAT why she keeps flashing that little box thing in my face?
