Birthday: February 14th 2002 Likes: Playing skoot-a$$. (see pictures...lol) Pet-Peeves: BATHS....I hate them, mom says I act like a real little turd. Actually she uses another word, but I'm not allowed to say it. Favorite Toy: I love anything that squeeks. I know how to make them work! I love when I get a new toy, all I have to do is watch mom or dad and see where they squeeze. Sometimes it takes me a few minutes, but I find those things! Favorite Food: Doggie cigars with a double dip of peanut butter Favorite Walk: I like to run in the park, but only if mom's running too! I think it's funny to watch mom's face get all read and I get to lick her while she's laying on the ground breathing real heavy! Best Tricks: I say "mama" when asked "who do you love?", I can also sit up, give my paw and smack my lips. I must be really smart! Arrival Story: Mom and Dad adopted me from an ad Mom found on the internet. They travelled 20 miles to go and meet me and my brothers. They seemed like really nice people, when they pulled up in my driveway, and I ran to the fence to check them out. I liked how they smelled. They both let me lick them all over!! As Mom and Dad were talking to the lady who was taking care of me, I thought I'd better get my stuff together because I knew I was going home with them. So I went over to the where the lady was sitting and grabbed my big bag of dog food to take along. People are so funny, they were looking all over for it, and I was just in the yard carrying it with me. I don't know why they laughed so hard....I guess they didn't know how smart I am.
Before I met my mom and dad, there were a bunch of people who came out to where I was staying and took some pictures of me. They said it was for a magazine called National Geographic for Kids. I didn't get to see the magazine because I can't read, and guy at the magazine store wouldn't accept dog biscuits for payment. Mom saw it and said I looked beautiful!! Bio: We just really love our puppy. She's the 2nd red dog we've had. The first one had a short and tragic life. This one has been spoiled in the honor of our first. She's very friendly and loves everyone and everything. And she loves to talk. She'd crack you up if you knew her. Talk to her, and she'll talk back, not with little doggie woofs, but by moving her mouth open and closed, pursing her lips and making all kinds of cute vocalizations. Another thing that she does that is so funny is that she'll bark with her mouth but without a voice. She can bark normal, and does, but she has this special bark that she does when she wants something and knows she should be quiet. I've Been On Dogster Since:
It's been almost 2 whole years since I wrote. I've been so busy. Mommy and Daddy have been messing my house all up. They ripped up the pretty purple carpet and put this yucky white stuff down. I don't understand them. The old stuff was still good! It was scratchy, and when I did my rolly-pollies it itched my back almost as good as when Mommy brushes me. It also had all kinds of little scratch and sniff spots on it where I ate my steak bones. I don't care how long ago it was, I still would go and lick my special spots. They're so silly throwing away something so useful.
Let's see, what else has happened. Oh, oh! I have 2 grandma's! My first grandma lives in Ohio, and my 2nd grandma lives here in town with me. She came and lived with me for a few months. I'd liked when she was here, because she never told me what to do. But I know it stressed Mommy and Daddy out whenever I would go into her room while she was eating. I just don't understand why they're so grumpy sometimes. Grandma didn't mind, why should they?
And one night, I got a big big suprise. It was pretty late, but all these people came over here. And they brought another doggy and a kitty with them. The doggy's name was Pookie. She was really pretty, but not as pretty as me of course. ;) Pookie, well, they put her in MY backyard to go potty, and I guess I just don't like sharing. I mean they didn't even ask me!!! I was a good girl and let her go, but I made sure to supervise her the whole time so she didn't go in the wrong place. I work hard to keep my yard tidy. I only poo in the center, so that I can keep the space along the fence clean for when I'm guarding my family. I acted kind of tough around Pookie, but don't tell anyone, I really liked her. I just didn't want her to think she could stay.
I'm going to go now, but I've got one last thing to say.
All my toys squeekies are broken!!!! And most of my toys, mommy took and put up. Something about me gutting them. I just wanted to see what was inside. I sure hope mommy and daddy get on the ball and get me some new toys!! I miss squeeking!
A whole bunch of strange men were in my yard yesterday with loud machines that were cutting up tree limbs. Mom was very unhappy after they left...something about it costing way too much. I don't know what she's talking about.
But after they left, Mom let me go outside all by myself again! Whoo Hoo!!!!! There are so many things to explore out there. There's still a big tree that's laying on the ground but mom thinks it's ok for me to explore there. She said it was the other tree that was dangerous.
I had a lot of fun, my pet lizzards must have missed me helping them get their exercise. We ran around all day, and one of my doggy friends walked by and I had a conversation with her. I got to eat my dinner on the back porch again. It was great!
But then this morning, mom let me come inside (like she always does) and I had to go straight to bed. I have to admit, I like the soft bed that I have in here, and frankly I'm exhausted! I was up all night playing, and running, and exploring. So now I'm not sure what is better....being inside or outside.
I guess I just like both. I'd rather be outside when I'm stuck in, and I'd rather be inside when I'm stuck out. Mom says it's my right to be fickly because I'm a girl. Sounds good to me!
Ok, I have to admit, I was jeleous. I saw all these dogs that got to live inside the house all the time. I live outside. I have my own back yard, and my own room that has a big door and carpeting. My mom keeps it nice and clean for me, and my dad keeps all the bugs out. My dad even gave me my own light, but I'm too short to turn it on and off.
I would always go to the door, or up to the "drive-thru" window as Mom calls it, and ask to come in. I loved to be inside, and fealt that life in there had to be better than life out here.
As of this year, I realized that I am not that crazy about being inside all the time. Actually I think it really stinks. I've got no grass to nibble on, no dirt to roll in, and no lizards to chase. (that's the worst part). I can't chat with all the dogs in the neighborhood, and I can't show the cat's how big and strong I am.
Over the past 6 weeks, we've had these rains that Mom calls hurricanes. She and dad have had me inside all the time. Sleep inside, eat inside, and only go outside for a few minutes just to go to the potty. Well I hate it!!
I keep going over to Mom and asking her if I can go out and play, and she keeps telling me "no" that it's too dangerous!!! I just wanna go play!! There's NOTHING to do in here!!!! I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo bored! I'm getting old before my time, I know it!
Mom keeps saying that I'll get to go back outside soon. When? I keep thinking maybe today is the day, but it's always something. "No Chloe, there's too much debri" "No hunny, maybe tomorrow" Waaaaaa.....I miss my lizzies!!
