Arrival Story: It was December 26, 2005 when I lost my beloved adopted Rottweiler Jake of 5 yrs. Jake was my best friend and companion; we went and did everything together. He had the best temperament that any Rottweiler owner could ever ask for. Jake was born in a litter that was whelped outside in the freezing cold under a house. All of his littermates died from exposure to the cold. When Jake died, he was only 5 yrs. old and 140 pounds, 40 pounds overweight. This where I got my start in Rottweilers, they are great companions and bond very closely with their owner and family. It was after Jake's death that I studied the Rottweiler breed for proper pedigree and bloodline. After my extensive research, I learned that reputable breeders breed to enhance the Rottweiler. Don't take me wrong, I love all Rottweilers but if their hips and elbows do not get at least a fair OFA rating, they should not be breed. Instead they should be neutered or spayed for companion dogs only. I am a firm believer in giving love and care to any Rottweiler (breedable or not). Weather you want a Rottweiler for pet or show quality, find a reputable breeder or consider a rescue. My wife and I went to meet a breeder and went to see his kennel; this is where we met Rigs. I decided to purchase him and his name would be Nik von Warterr a.k.a. Rigs. Rigs has an incredible bloodline that that goes back to Germany (where is dam and sire are imported from). When I met Rigs, he was too young to bring home (under 8 weeks of age) so I waited two more weeks to bring him into our home. Rigs has grown into a healthy highly driven Rottweiler. Since he first came home he goes everywhere with me, even to work everyday. He is trained in German commands and is extremely intelligent. We are working towards his BH and BST. We also purchased a female pup from the same breeder and she is gorgeous, her name is Magic's Yasmin von Warterr a.k.a. Yaz. After Rigs and Yasmin reach 2 years of age and their hips and elbows are OFA certified I plan to breed them considering that their certifications come back acceptable (at least a hip rating of normal or excellent for both of them).

Bio: While Rigs AKC name is Nik von Warterr, we decided to name him after his sire Gir von Hause Milsped by switching the letters around. We already had a dog named Nikki a,k.a. Nik. Rigs enjoys playing with his new sister Yasmin. He has completed puppy and basic obedience and will be taking an advanced obedience course in the fall. He is also working on his BH and BST. Rigs most favorite thing to do is spend time with his daddy.
