Arrival Story:
We got Winnie over 11 years ago from a breeder and she's my first born baby. When we got there to pick up "our" dog, the breeder, Barbara said the lady before us wanted 2 so she gave away the "pet quality" one's, so we got "one special dog that would do well as the only dog." We saw Winnie and fell in love with this little "show quality dog" for a pet price. We tried tried dog shows with her but it was not to her liking. Winnie had some serious seperation anxiety for a year or so when we would leave her, (she ripped the stuffing out of a sofa and loveseat one day, etc.) and then we decided to get her a "sister" Coco came into the picture and they have been best pals ever since. Winnie has been there for us when I was diagnosed with cancer, she was there with me in my daughter's nursery before she was born and then after Emmy was born, Winnie would lay in the Lazyboy chair with me on the footrest while I nursed. She is never far from my side and I just love her with all of my heart. Winnie is a bit of a diva and princess and will let you know what she wants when she wants it. She is so very specail and I am blessed to have get to share my life with hers.

Winnie loves to be under the covers and has taught me so much about life.

The day is here that we all dreaded but knew was coming. Win has been having a hard time swallowing with her swollen lymph nodes over the last two days. She can't eat without gagging and is walking around with her head bowed down and the sparkle is gone from my angels eyes.

I made the appointment at the vet and our sweetest angel dog who became attached to my soul is now with my dad in heaven. Tom and I both cried, it was so sad watching her go but I know that she was just holding on for me. I know my girl.

Our heart are broken in pieces because of the loss of our beloved win win. My soul has been etched by her spirit, determination, compassion and love forever. She will always be with me and will be the one dog that I will hold onto for as long as I breathe. She was so special.

She knew words like: Din Din, Go, Park, Tom Tom is home, Treat, Go get your baby, Up, crawl, speak, Say I love you "Rye Ruff Rooo", sit, shake, lay down, say Please, Petsmart, etc.

Winnie was my constant shadow and now I am at a loss without her. I keep looking for her and she is not here. I don't think that I will ever get over this. She and I had a bond that was amazing. I love you Win Win.

Well, Winnie is getting fatter and that is good. She can't get enough to eat. She is going outside more frequently and that part is not good and urinating in the house on occasion. (She always looks so sad after it, like she' s going to get into trouble but I just give her hugs and clean it up.)

One thing that has happened is that she is (2x's) gotten aggressive with Coco. Once she bit near Coco's eye, where the brown is around her eye, like eyeliner, and made it bleed. (This was over food.) The second time happened last night and for no reason (no food involved or family around) Winnie attacked Coco and bit her on her back. It was enough to puncture her skin and make it bleed but thank goodness not deep.

Winnie is a sweetie and this is not normal behavior for her. I know she feels bad about it afterwards, as she is kind of shy to Coco and Coco will growl at her later on (while snuggling with me being protected) and Win will be submissive.

That's all for now.

Got into the treat cupboard the other night, I figured out a new trick, if I use my nose and open it, I can get all the treats that I want. I did it and it was awesome. The humans have caught on and now seal the treat bag but that's nothing that my teeth can't cut through, woof woof.

I am still feeling great, eating quite a bit and having fun messing with my family. I am tricking them into giving me a treat for being cute (which is all the time), speaking (even when they don't ask me to), when they or I leave a room, when I go out to potty (which now I go more frequently because of my meds), and just because I am so smart and cute.

I have gained a bit more weight and now look better too. I am playing with my family and enjoy all the things in life. I am liking laying by the fire, seems like it is on more often this year than ever before. I love it!!

I have found that I like broccoli, fruit cups, of course my usual ANY MEAT, and other foods that i have not tried before. I guess it's because I am trying to live life to the fullest and I am hungry!!

I am snuggling with mom more often and follow her anywhere she goes, even if she gets up for a minute, I have to be right by her side.

Have a wooftacular day all
