Arrival Story:
I fell in love with the breed while visiting a local Petsmart, just to pick up birdfood for our daughter's cockatiel. I did some research on the web, not knowing any thing about Shibas until then. Six months and one new house later, we adopted her just before Christmas 2003. We found her on Petfinder.com. Her breeder/owner couldn't care for all her dogs anymore.

Bio:
Update - Mar 17, 2008: One day before her 14th birthday, Lily is now in doggy heaven. She had a fairly pronounced heart murmur, and she had been having scary moments where she collapsed after walking up or down stairs. Our vet recommended what we had been dreading, that we should consider making her end as peaceful as we could. She'd also not been eating or drinking very much over the last several weeks, and been having confused spells where she'd get herself "caught" in a corner and cry out until we helped her get turned around or picked up. We're going to miss her. She was our first shiba and a neat little old girl. We just found out (Mar 2005) she's 11! Pretty perky 11, though, as she'll run way faster than I can keep up, in our backyard!
