ADOPT YOUR NEXT BABY!

I know what people must be thinking, practice what you preach! But my local shelters and rescues will not adopt to me. Because I have a child under 5 and I have a large number of dogs. I tried with Lizzie and Harley now I've given up! But mutts are just as good if not BETTER than purebreds! My Bandit is my only "mutt" and he is the greatest of them all. He is the most loving, loyal, and smartest of all of them.


Sad but so true.

My own note - I am sure if you are a member of Dogster you have heard "Please love me for my whole life, I am not disposable" I have had to rehome three dogs in my lifetime and I cannot think of anything in my life that hurt me more. Every time has left me bed ridden for weeks. But they were all circumstances I could not change! They were all rehomed by ME! I refuse to ever ever abandon any of my babies. I will do whatever it takes! All three of my kids were not getting what they needed or deserved living with me so I found someone who could give them what they needed. Don't turn your furkids into the shelter where they will most likely be euthanized for ANY problems medical or physical they have. Don't abandon them like trash they love you and are counting on you! Once you make a commitment to an animal it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to keep that. You wouldn't abandon your human kids what makes pets lives any less valuable?

Just A dog

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog."

They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog,"
and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand
phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust,
and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.

Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.

So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future,
the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away
from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog",
but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being
"just a man or woman."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog"
just smile...
because they "just don't understand."

1. I was found running down a busy highway, and was never claimed by my previous owner!

2. I think I am gladiator, I will charge a large dog and then when they turn around (weather it be in a playful mannor or not) I ren away as fast as I can screaming at the top of my lungs

3. I was attacked and hospitalized by a pit mix loose at the park!

4. I have panic attacks in the baths if mom puts to much water on my face!

5. My very best friend is a 2 year old named Taylor (my mommy's daughter)

6. I love to play outside but if I am left outside for longer than an hour I will sulk until I am let in the house!

7. I am very gentle, and easy going even if Maggie plays to ruff or Taylor (The 2 year old) steps on me I just get out of the way and go lay down!

Concerned about my Bandit!

For those of you who heard of what happened to my Doggies! They got attacked by a pit mix! I thought everything was going great! Bandit was recovering great and seemed back to himself!
I let Bandit and Maggie out to play in the backyard for the first time in days last night! Maggie was just palying as usual! And she jumped on him playfully and he screamed! Literally!
I'm concerned now he's limping with his boo boo leg and I have to be really careful picking him up or he screams! All my family is saying it's probably just because he's still sore and wasn't ready to play yet! But I don't know! What should I do! One minute he's screming and limping and the next he's fine! What should I do? Take him back to the vet or just wait it out!

I got Bandit Back!

Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support! I got Bandit back from the vet today! He has a torn ligament in his leg but other than that the vet says he is BADLY burised and sore! He recovering great! He's got a cute little cast on his leg and I have to give him pain meds and a list of different other meds to get him back to himself faster! He was so happy to see me when I picked him up from the vet he pee peed on my shirt for the first time ever! He was sooo excited to get out of there and come back home! He has been sleeping almost all day! I could only imagine how scared and lonely he must have been at that vet for so long! He probably didn't sleep at all! Well Maggie's "boo boo" is doing much better but poor baby has to wear an e collar so she can't mess with it! She seems so embarassed and depressed wearing that collar! But I know she needs it for the best! She has now started to limp on the other leg! The right leg and we are gonna take her back in to get it checked out! So now she has a boo boo on both hind legs! But that still doesn't slow her down! I don't blame the Pit Bull breed! I love pit bulls! But they are strong dogs and need to be kept under control! I blame the owner! She told me that her dog had "never done that before!" So maybe she'll learn that's why there is a leash law! My dogs love me and listen to comands and would never run away! They don't "need" to wear leashes either! But the leash law is there for a reason! To protect your animals and other animals including people! If you want to let your dog off leash you should be 110% they will listen to you and do that in an apropriate place! Like a dog park! I will have to get that direct stop! Thanks everyone!

Bandit Got attacked today!

Bandit's mommy here! Bandit and Maggie got attacked by a Pit mix today! We were in the park and two dog a pit mix and a rottie mix (Off leash, in a leash law enforced park) came up to my Bandit and Maggie the owner shouted "They won't hurt your dogs" and the Pit picked up my Bandit and shook him like a rag doll! My husband pried open his mouth and got my Bandit out! Then kicked the dog and shouted " NO GET DOWN!" We also had Maggie he picked them both up and started kicking at the dog! Maggie was fine and the dog kept jumping up trying to bite my babies out of his arms! Then he got ahold of Maggie's leg and she has a big bite mark on her left leg! Now bandit has to stay overnight at the vet! They are giving him IV fluids and pain medication! He screams everytime anyone tries to pick him up! They took and X-Ray and found he has no broken bones but they are taking blood work and will have the results tomorrow on weather he has any internal damage! It's gonna be a ruff night worring about him! And a first night since we've had him that I'll be without him! They let me see him before we left and it was really hard seeing hooked up to all that stuff! And he tried so hard to jump trough that cage to come to me! I could only imagine how scared and confused he must be! But on the upside the owners were VERY responsible about it they gave us their number and when we got the bill they came to the vet and took care of the bill! Please everyone pray for my Babies especially Bandit, that they make a full recoverys, and that the blood work comes back fine! I'll keep everyone updated on how it comes out as soon as I know! Happy Easter, YEAH RIGHT!

Lovin the Country Life!

I had a fun filled day today! Me mom and Taylor played hide and seek for hours! It was so much fun but I kept giving away where mom was because I didn't close my eyes and count! Oh I played with Buddy and Maggie today and had a blast! I had to tell Bud to back off though because Maggie is MY woman! He didn't care he just kept pestering me! Go Figure! Anyway... oh oh i meet the neighbors horses! They were so big... but I wasn't scared ONE bit!! Ha!! Ok maybe a little, maybe....maybe I peed all over mommy's shirt! But she didn't get mad she just said "Ok, I think It's time to go inside!" Anyway that's my story for today! Oh yeah i got a stinky ol bath too! But now I'm extra fluffy, so I guess it's ok! Well I'll write again soon! Good Night!

Today was my first trip to the Dog park!

Today was my made up Birthday! Mom doesn't know my birthday because she found me! But my doggie doctor said this was close to my birthday! So now Jan 13th is my official birthday! Any way we had lots of fun today! We went to the flea market and looked at all the sad little puppies that were being sold! Mommy wanted one, but she knew that they would grow up to be bigger than me, and she didn't want to risk my life or place in the family! Anyway after that we had our first trip to the doggie park! And let me tell you I DID NOT LIKE IT ONE BIT! We went in and I tried to let everyone know i was here and this big scary pit bull tried to eat me! Luckily he had a very good owner that told him that was NOT ok! Then i tried to greet the smaller dogs and these two big dogs tried to rumble with me! I told them i didn't want to and to go away! But they didn't listen i tried crying and growling and they wouldn't leave me alone! Mommy tried to save me but they kept on after me! Mommy finally saved me and i was so scared i got sick! Three times! Although mommy did meet a very nice lady there that owned three pugs! She tried to help mommy teach me how to not be so scared at the doggie park! But i wanted NO part in it! I cuddled up in mommys lap and would not let her put me down! That's the last time i go there!
