"Howdy Ya'll!! My Tounge/Slobber entry. Please vote for me in The World's Coolest Dog and Cat show! http://www.dogster.com/show09/vote_pet.php?i=441200"
"Bandit exploring his soon to be acre back yard! As soon as we install the doggy door and put in sod this will be their new yard. It is 4 times bigger than their current yard. With 6 dogs we had to make a bigger yard."
"This is Bandit's Before and After. The first photo was taken the day we found Bandit and the second at three years. The vet estimated his age because he has loosing his baby teeth when we found him. 5-6 months??"
Likes: Treat night. Once a week they get a home cooked meal he LOVES it. He LOVES Bridgette and Lizzie. He loves going "bye bye" he loves chasing the big dogs at the dog park. And he loves 1 on 1 time with momma.
Pet-Peeves: Large dogs that get in his face or private areas. Baths. Oh and our groomer too because she grooms his private areas! Going through the drive through and not getting something.
Favorite Toy: Teddy's ears! Teddy rolls over to play and he grabs his ears!
Favorite Food: Any type of human food. Except icky vegetables.
Favorite Walk: Anywhere where he can be with momma and he loves the dog park.
Best Tricks: See his Bio for all of his tricks! But his best trick is Hide and Seek! See his Bio!!
Arrival Story: I actually did not plan on getting any more dogs as I already had two young dogs that were very much in need of loads of attention! But I am currently living with my Grandfather and Uncle due to some issued I was having with my landlord (Read Maggie's Adoption Story)! My Uncle went to cash his pay check and on the way home saw my Bandit running down a VERY busy road! There were other small dogs near by he tried to push him back with them! But the other dogs tried to attack him multiple times! This is the country and animals DO NOT survive on the roads! With all the semis and cars going 70 or faster! So he decided to bring him home to try to locate his owner! I told my Uncle that I would take care of it and find his home! Since dogs are really my passion! We went to every local door and no one had lost a dog! We put up signs... ads in the newspaper and we got LOTS of calls but none matched his description! We think he may have been a "drop off!" People do it all the time out here in the country (we get them on our property ALL THE TIME), they drop them off for a number of reasons! Maybe they don't like the dog or can't handle them or even think maybe someone will find them and keep them or a coyote will eat them! An easy way to get rid of the "trash" huh? Me and my fiancee decided he was probably dumped because he was purchased as a purebred Papillon and he has droopy ears (Phalene) people are so shallow! For a while we actually tried giving him away because we could not handle any more dogs at the time! But weeks and weeks passed trying to locate his owner and by the time we realized no one was going to claim him my 2 year old had fallen in love with him! They became fast friends! And with how loving and gentle he was with her we decided to give him a try... to see how he would work out with the family! They became fast friends and now are inseparable! And about 2 days later I told my husband "there is NO WAY you will ever get me to get rid of this dog!" I guess he knew the way to my heart... through my pride and joy; My two year old Taylor! Now he goes EVERYWHERE with me and Taylor, in my new favorite purse! I can't imagine my life without him! Thanks again Uncle Rick!!!!!!
Bio: According to the vet he looks purebred or pretty close to being purebred Papillon or Phalene! He is currently 19 months old! He weighs 9 pounds 8 ounces and is one of the best and smartest dogs I have ever had! Bandit truly is a Momma's boy!
Everyone in my family and all my friends know my Bandit as being extremly smart and well manered! It only takes a few repitations and Bandit learns a new trick PERFECT! He listens very well! He is also the only dog I can trust off leash! He knows LOTS of tricks! He knows sit, stay, come, leave it, wait, crate, spot, go potty, dance, walk, roll over, shake, shake off (after a bath), look away, heel, watch em, beg, speak, bang bang (plays dead), go night night, go get it, bed, down, off, crawl, play shy, who loves me (gives kisses), and the cutest of all, Hide and seek! I got to get video of this! He'll play hide and seek with my daughter! You say Bandit "play hide" and the best part is he doesn't go to the same spot every time! He hides until Taylor finds him! If we can't find him we say "Bandit, STAY, SPEAK!!" and he barks so we can find him! Oh my goodness its sooooo cute! He enjoys it so much too! I've tried teaching my other two girls(dogs) how play hide and seek and they look at me like I'm the stupidest person ever! I think Bandit would really enjoy agility but I don't know how to get started in it!

I know what people must be thinking, practice what you preach! But my local shelters and rescues will not adopt to me. Because I have a child under 5 and I have a large number of dogs. I tried with Lizzie and Harley now I've given up! But mutts are just as good if not BETTER than purebreds! My Bandit is my only "mutt" and he is the greatest of them all. He is the most loving, loyal, and smartest of all of them.
Sad but so true.
I ADOPTED YOUR DOG TODAY
I adopted your dog today
The one you left at the pound
The one you had for seven years
and no longer wanted around.
I adopted your dog today
Do you know he's lost weight?
Do you know he's scared and depressed
and has lost all faith?
I adopted your dog today.
he had fleas and a cold,
but don't worry none.
You've unburdened your load.
I adopted your dog today.
Were you having a baby or moving away?
Did you suddenly develop allergies or was
there no reason he couldn't stay?
I adopted your dog today.
he doesn't play or eat much
He's very depressed, but
he will learn again to trust.
I adopted your dog today.
And here he will stay.
He's found his forever home
and a warm bed on which to lay.
I adopted your dog today.
And I will give him all that he could need.
Patience, love, security, and understanding.
Hopefully he will forget your selfish deed.

My own note - I am sure if you are a member of Dogster you have heard "Please love me for my whole life, I am not disposable" I have had to rehome three dogs in my lifetime and I cannot think of anything in my life that hurt me more. Every time has left me bed ridden for weeks. But they were all circumstances I could not change! They were all rehomed by ME! I refuse to ever ever abandon any of my babies. I will do whatever it takes! All three of my kids were not getting what they needed or deserved living with me so I found someone who could give them what they needed. Don't turn your furkids into the shelter where they will most likely be euthanized for ANY problems medical or physical they have. Don't abandon them like trash they love you and are counting on you! Once you make a commitment to an animal it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to keep that. You wouldn't abandon your human kids what makes pets lives any less valuable?
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog."
They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog,"
and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand
phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust,
and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future,
the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away
from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog",
but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being
"just a man or woman."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog"
just smile...
because they "just don't understand."
