Arrival Story: The story of her conception is really more interesting. My other dog Pixie was in her first heat. I had always been told by vets that if a female dog could go through her first cycle before being spayed it often made their personality more balanced and easy going. So I was keeping her in the house and just waiting it out.
Even with all of our efforts, some male dogs in the area picked up her scent and were skulking about our house. One evening we went to my in-law's house for dinner. They live nearby and I decided to run home to quickly pick up something for my sister-in-law.
As I approached the house I felt a weird sensation in my stomach as I realized that the lower half of my front door was completely gone. From just below the door knob to the ground, it was spintered, gnarled and missing. Does anyone understand the bizarre sensation of having to still put the key in the knob and turn it to walk inside even though the entire bottom of the door is gone??
I opened the door and was confused by pawprints and drips of blood from the door, through the entry way, into the living room and on my couch. On the couch I found a large white American Standard Bulldog curled up, sound asleep next to my Boxer, Pixie.
I have no idea whose dog it was or where he came from. I clapped my hands, whistled and said, "Come on Boy! Let's go!" Thankfully he did so and didn't give me any trouble at all.
Nine weeks later my Pixie-girl gave birth to eight puppies. Thunder was number five in the birth line. There was always just something about her so when time came to find homes for all of them, my son was told he could pick one puppy to keep. Thunder was the one he chose.

Bio: Issues, issues, issues. The dog was born in this house, raised in this house, raised with our family so why she developed a hyper-active personality and is wary of other people is beyond me. I've never had a dog with this type of..... er.... quirk. We're working through it, but she has major Alpha dog issues. As in, she thinks she needs to be, but doesn't want the position. LOL

Forums Motto: I am Thunder.... all hail me.
