Likes:
My toys, being next to someone, meeting new people

Pet-Peeves:
I HATE being alone! People outside who won't come in and play with me, birds making a racket, and squirrels on the fence outside trying to steal the bird food!

Favorite Toy:
Heave-a-Beaver, hide-a-series squeaky puzzles (squirrels, bees), squeaky balls, anything that makes lotsa noise! :)

Favorite Food:
Dog treats, but I know there is other stuff out there...I can smell it! (Alex has learned to be a beggar and loves anything I eat..or put on myself - like lotion and lipgloss! His favorite human treat is probably ice cream, and he also loves chicken.)

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere I can sniff around! (I'll walk anywhere, but running is more fun!)

Best Tricks:
Carrying water bottles or an ice cube in my mouth. Now that I am getting older I can give handshakes, give high 5's, dance, jump from the couch to the foot stool; I just found my tail-weee! circles!

Arrival Story:
My new mom and grandma came and saw how cute I am and they couldn't pass me up. We drove home in the pouring rain and it was dark, but I wasn't afraid. My mommy held me tight in a soft blanket and I slept all the way home, which was about 2 hours! I had to get used to my new home at first, but I love it here, now!

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! *circles* I just got home from a visit to a far far away land. Mommy and Grammy took me in the car and I never thought I'd ever get back home. They even took my cage with me! I love to take a "ride" but I didn't know it'd be that long. They put me in my cage and I was so restless, I tossed and turned and panted so hard that Mommy worried about me. They called the vet and found out some doggies just don't like new things sometimes. I was a good boy, though! We stayed in a few new places and we moved alot, but FINALLY we got to Florida and I wuvved it there! We stayed at a nice place, I got to meet lots of nice new people, too! (I even got walked by new people, it was sooo much fun!) I was a good boy and didn't bark like I do at home (at the squirrels and birds and cats and people, you know!). So we stayed there the longest and I was so happy, I even started eating my food again. (I wasn't hungry on the way there.) It sure was hot there! I wasn't allowed to go on the beach but there's sand everywhere and I still got some sand in between my paws.....but I liked it! On the way back home I was nervous again so Mommy said I could sit between her and Grammy in "my spot" in the car, so I did. I was much happier there. I don't care for driving that far, but I still had fun. (Mom will post pictures of me in my spot hehe.) I hope everyone gets to go on a nice trip someday......just make sure you bring your favorite toys and treats, it always makes the trip more fun! Have a great summer everyone...enjoy laying/playing in the sun!
Paws and Licks,
Sir Alex:)

P.S. - I'm 3 now and I've really calmed down Mommy says....I don't play as much as I used to, but I still like to play for a little while every day! People always make me the happiest, so I like being outside around them when it is nice out...I'm happy the sun is back again and it's getting warmer!! *wags*

Getting Older - Mommy's Musings

Alex recently turned two and I thought it was about time to update some of his likes and dislikes. He's such a joy to have around! He's getting a little more calm it seems...when it comes to playing. He sleeps more when I do now and isn't constantly begging to play. It's funny, I think we play more now because he doesn't drive me insane trying to play! *LOL*. He's found his "barker" and loves to bark every day at the birds, squirrels, and people outside our apartment. (I think he barks at the people to say, "Hey! I'm in here come and visit!") He's learned to get out of my way when I sleep and am tossing and turning (he MUST be beside me at all times, or at least someone!), and has finally decided to sleep beside me on a pillow or closer to my feet. - Smart dog! He loves people so much that I've decided this summer when I am hot, all I have to do is have someone walk by or stay outside and Alex's wagging tail will make a nice fan! ;-)

Happy Easter to Dogster, all our pup pals and everyone else reading this! I can't wait for Spring to officially stay here, and I'm sure Alex can't either...more people to see and be around! :)

Until next time....!
