Being with his family, going for walks and car rides, chasing squirrels, stealing socks (stinky or clean), playing catch, chewing on nylabones, snuggling, massages and listening to me and my husband practice guitar (really!).

Thunder, vacuums, big dogs, being alone, when he's not the center of attention.
Favorite Toy:
Stuffed dog toy with its ears chewed off, green spiny squeek ball, nylabones, kongs
Favorite Food:
Earl has liver disease, so he can only eat Hill's L/D formula. Luckily, he likes this--especially the canned! Otherwise, he would eat anything if we let him...especially peanut butter.
Favorite Walk:
Parks, neighborhood, anywhere!
Best Tricks:
Shake hands, rollover, sitting on his hind legs with front paws raised.
Arrival Story:
Earl came from Beagles and Buddies (B&B) in El Monte, CA. B&B is a no-kill animal sanctuary, and they rescued Earl and his brother from the pound.
My husband and I went to B&B looking for a dog to adopt. I had my mind set on a beagle, while my husband wanted a terrier or "scrappy" looking dog. We couldn't decide between two great dogs, so we left to "sleep on it." When we came back the next day, we were still torn. So B&B said they had a special dog to show us. They added that they did not show "Earl" to just anyone but felt we would be a good match and give him a good home. Before I knew what was happening, they placed this tiny charcoal mini-schnauzer pup in my arms, and he began licking me. He must have been about four-and-a-half months old at the time. One look at Earl's cute face and I knew! My husband instantly said, "Oh--he's the one!"
The rest, as they say, is history. We feel so lucky to have Earl. He's the best dog in the world for us.
