Woof!

Hi everyone! I have been absent far too long. It all the fault of those darn cats!!!! They just try to take over everything. I am a house dog now. I am getting older, and mommy decided that since she is home with us, no more yard...except for well you know....business.

Lexi can't stay outside for long. She has a skin condition and Canine Entropion. I feel sorry for her. She hangs out in the bedroom. I kick it in the living room with....the cats. Yay.

Mom is still entering me in every contest she can find. And that silly kitten Bella. Silly is an understatement. Paisan naps on the couch with me. I think he just likes to be warm.

Ok my friends, the cats are scratching at the door. Bark at you guys later!

Mookie not happy.

I have some sort of freak allergy to the dirt in our back yard. This is the second year my tail is all messed up. Mom has tons of medicine for me, and it will heal. But, this year she called the landlord over and asked him to cut the avocado tree way back. Mom wanted to lay sod last year but the tree covers most of the yard and drops leaves. So, mom is hoping that with the tree cut back, she can plant the sod, and we wont be in the dirt. The dirt was my idea. I like to dig. I taught Lexi how to dig. So now our yard is all messed up. Dad is going to borrow this machine from grandma that will level out the yard. The vet said that something in the dirt is causing a skin allergy. Dad is supposed to give me a bath tomorrow (Sunday). Lexi too. Mom has to go groom Happy for grandma. At least mom and dad already know what to do, and mom inspects us regularly. We can't get away with anything!!!! Well, I will update you all on my allergy. Right now, it is confined to my tail. Woofs!!!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Wow!!! Today was my birthday! I forgot. Mom and Dad forgot too. Mom was clearing out the jungle in the front, and who knows what dad was up to....oh yeah, removing programs from his laptop that he is giving to someone who really needs a computer. It is all good tho. I am on my dog bed now, happily snoozing. Lexi gave me a bath. I don't think that qualifies for a gift. If she can't groom me, she gets really upset. It was a nice day outside. Mom spent a lot of time outside and was talking to us. Dad was supposed to cut the grass, but I guess the computer thing was more important. Mom said that since Lexi and my birthday are 1 month apart, she will have one party for both and promises to take pictures. Everyone, have a great week.

Well, I am not really complaining, .....but

My skin infection is still winning. After much process of elimination, sorry Lexi our vet has determined that something is in the backyard causing my skin and now Lexi's skin to become infected. We are on all kinds of drugs. I hate taking that stupid big green pill. We both have to stay in the house, except for potty breaks.

Daddy bought special spray for the backyard from the vet. He is going to cut, trim, weed wack, everything down and spray. He has to do it twice, but we are in the house anyway so no big deal.

Hopefully, that will solve the problem. We have been treated for fleas and ticks, and we are both getting a bath with special shampoo on Saturday or Sunday. Depends on how Daddy does with the yard.

I keep getting these puss pockets, but since I am in the house, mom is on me fast before I can chew on it. How is a dog supposed to have any fun?

Well,Lexi is giving me "the eye" which means she wants to go back to sleep. She has been up with mom for hours now. Lexi is used to sleeping in.

Hello everyone!

First, and most importantly I would like to thank all my friends for the well wishes and gifts. I am making serious improvement. Must be the Power of the Paw.

Today, for the first time I got to go for a walk. It was only to the end of the driveway. All the kids yelled "DUKE!!!" and came running to me. Mom showed them where not to pet me. They were so happy to see me. They were sticking hearts on me and under my collar. That was the best part of my whole week so far.

Daddy is doing his best to recover too. He has better pain pills than I do. He was in a car accident on the freeway. We live in Los Angeles, so I am sure you can imagine what that was like. He was taken to the hospital. He got scared because the car started filling up with smoke and he thought it was going to catch on fire, and he could not get out. Someone helped him get out, then he could not walk. His face is all scratched and swollen from the airbag and he hurts really bad on his shoulder, chest and stomach. I think I can walk better than Daddy. BOL.

Hey Everyone

I was bad. I bit my leg even more. More medicine, more pills and mom said she is getting some kind of collar so I cant bite..

Well for the next few days, Daddy and I will be recovering from our injuries. He got in a fight with his Honda. There were no winners. Daddy went in a ambulance and his car went away to car jail. If daddy is up to it, they are going up to get daddys personal stuff out of the car. what is left of it. BOL

Hi Everyone!

I am doing a little better today. Daddy did not have to hold me when I went up and down the stairs. I did my business outside with dad supervising, kinda. Lexi was running around the back yard. Last night mom and dad decided not to put up the barracade to keep Lexi away from me. They put her new bed down. She sleeps by the door so she can smell cats. So they have to pick up her bed in the morning. I am still owie. I hate those stupid green pills I have to take and mom has to rub some medicine on my owies except for the hole in my leg. One day at a time, mom says. Today is the first day I will be all alone in the house and Lexi will be outside. Mom and Dad have to go to work today. I will get sleepy after the medicine, so it will be ok. Lexi is doing a good job barking at strangers. I can hear her from the bedroom. Well, time to lay all the way down. Medicine time. Woof at you later!

This is Duke's mom. Duke is asleep again. I put the photos on his page so you can see he took a licking, but will be ok. He just needs the Power of the Paw and some rest.

Hi everyone!

I have had a ruff 24 hours. Lexi and I got into a huge, huge, horrible physical altercation yesterday. I went to the vet as did Lexi. She is fine, just sad. I am cut, bit and grounded. I must stay in the house. When I was at the vet today, he was checking my body for wounds and found that I had a yeast type infection on my hindquarters but under my fur. My parents could not have seen it. But he saw it. I got shaved, and he found a pus ball. Yukk. I do not like those. I got my tail shaved a little too because this yeast thing was spreading. So, in addition to my battle scars, I have something else going on. Lexi was always trying to stick her little nose where it does not belong. Maybe she could smell something was wrong. Anyway, she did me a favor. If we had not gotten into the fight, this infection would have spread all over my body. So, I am now resting in the house and Lexi is in charge of the back yard. It's not that we have to be separated, but the vet said I must always be in a clean environment until healed. Kind of a bad news/good news/bad news kind of thing. I will be ok, and I will heal from my wounds. I go back in two weeks for another inspection. I hope there are no more surprises!

Lexi is too funny.

Yesterday, Uncle Scott came over to help daddy with the brakes on the car. They worked on the car for a while. When Scott first came over, he said hi to me and told Lexi to shut up. She did. She watched his every move the whole time he was here. After the brakes were done, Uncle Scott and Daddy started up that red truck that Molly likes to hang out in. Nothing that Uncle Scott ever builds is stock. Mom was asleep with earplugs, when Scott started this truck. I bet Molly ran for her life. Lexi put her ears back and walked away. I stayed there. Mom was yelling at them to quit playing. Mom had a headache. After that, she really had one and she loves race cars. It was so funny to see everyone scatter when he started up that truck tho. It is even louder than Daddy's truck. Boy, that was fun. When they were all done, Lexi walked back really slow with her ears twitching. She was not sure if the noise was really over yet. I guess she does not like race cars. She was mad at Uncle Scott after that, and just stood by the shed and looked at him. When Daddy called her, she walked away again. I was giggling. It is so much fun to make your sister mad. hee hee hee
