Arrival Story:
We lost our 2nd Akita in November of 2002 to Cushing's Disease. We had already purchased an Akita from Timbersky so contacted her and found there was a litter due in November. We waited... On New Years day we made the 900 mile (one way) drive to get the newest member of our family. What greeted us was the image of 8 little fur balls all asking to be chosen.....Thank you to Jodi for letting us fill a big void with this loving baby. My husbands father had also passed away just months before. Kodi has been a God send in many ways. He loves us no matter what. Kodi has taught us how to play again. Kodi has become the best Akita EVER....He loves people is easy to take with us. He attracts attention wherever he goes. Gotta Love him.

I just got notified that you will all be reading my diary. Don't feel sorry for me. I love my life, some days like today I don't feel good and just want to sleep but sleeping after all is my pasttime. In my dreams I can still run and play instead of just walking to retrieve the ball. Mom says my bartering skills are at their best today. If you want o know how to get all those yummy treats let me teach you. Pick up the favorite soft toy, take it to your owner push it against their legs and look up with big eyes and make it squeak(if it still will). One treat on it's way for cuteness.
My tail is wagging slow and Mom and Dad get sad once in a while and hold me tight while I lick the water off their face. Mom keeps saying, not now, not in 2013. Please make one more Christmas. I like Christmas and Thanksgiving. I get a couple pieces of Turkey in my bowl.....So wag on and get those treats.

Not sure what all the fuss is About.

Well today I officially turned 11 years old. This liver thing is making my fur fall out and I look old. But I still love my treats and my people. Life is good. Cuddling is my favorite thing and bargaining for treats is right up there. I taught my people a new trick. If you bring the toy and drop it in their lap, nose it torwards them, they think you are just too cute. Treats will come. Happy Birthday to me.

Camping with Friends.....

We just got home from the mountains, one of my favorite places in the world.
We camped for 8 days. Mom and Dad took me for walks I thought I could go farther than they did. I tripped a few times and they cried. I licked their tears away and told them I wouldn't leave them yet.
I had squirrels to chase and friends to get ear rubs from. You know what I mean, there aren't enough ear rubs in this world. We went to see our friend Gretchen. She tells Mom and Dad how that thing growing in my liver is doing.
She said I hadn't changed much. I still love life. I just sleep more than I used to. I wish Mom and Dad would smile all the time like they did up there.
Mom did hold me and cry when I needed a very ling break on our walk.
I want to go back SOON!!!!!!!
