Arrival Story:
Jubilee came to us from a puppy mill (AKA puppy Auschwitz) in Lancaster Pa September 2003 at 6 years of age and less then half her body weight at 3 pounds. She is now 61/2 pounds. She was about to be very inhumanly killed because she had a bad littler and now was no use to them. Jubilee lived in a chicken coop type of cage all these years never being let out, never being socialized with humans other then to whelp or be vaccinated. She was so scared of any human contact that when you picked her up she would cry so badly it sounded like she was being murdered. The first time we took her out and put her on the grassy ground I thought she had gone mad. She just froze stiff and didn't move. Now she runs like the wind the second she hits the ground for the first 5 minutes. In the house she would run in circles as if still in a cage it took almost a year for this to stop. Slowly the circles because bigger and bigger until one day she realized she could go straight to get from point A to point B It was amazing! And that is how it has been. little by little with lots of love and reassurance she lets one more of her quirky behaviors go. Now she will never be a normal socialized dog with just anyone but with us she is a love bug who will now come to us and lets us pick her up, which is a great accomplishment for this sweet little girl.. She is still very afraid of strangers and will run to a wall or corner of a room when someone new comes into the house and just stare at it for hours if you don't come get her to let her know it's ok. One of the pictures I added shows her doing this in the back yard by the fence when someone came into the yard with me. She also hates the camera so it is very hard to get pictures of her so any picture I have I treasure. 3 months after we were blessed with Jubilee her sister came to live with us also you can read her story if you click on Pebbles under her family.

Bio:
~UPDATE~ 11-22-2010 Jubilee past away this morning. Our home was blessed with her for the last 7 years. She went quietly sleeping next to her sister after breakfast this morning.... with a piece of our hearts. This part never gets easy :(

I WON!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I WON !!!!!!!!!!!

We got some really wonderful exciting news today.....I won third place in Dogsters "ADOPT 08 CONTEST" !!!!!!!!
I am humbled and honored they picked me. I love being part of anything that promotes adoption.
My mom was so excited she cried all morning....happy tears that is. She has spent so many years trying to educated people about puppy mills and the horror they are....so this is really exciting for us.
The rescue we chose for the donations to go to is Paul Sorvino's DogFellas www.paulsorvinosdogfellas.com they live in our community and do lots for dogs and also puppy mill awareness that is why we chose them.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful gifts and choosing me. I promise to use my 15 mintues of fame for the good of all dogs.
