Arrival Story:
I wanted to get another doggie - preferably one that would be "scruffy". We got Badger in December of '99 and because it was near Christmas the Humane Society was giving the pets holiday themed names. Somehow the most calm and loving dog in the world was named Scrooge! It had to be a joke because this dog is the friendliest dog and he loves people. I got him into my car and he fell asleep on the seat. When he came into the house he jumped right up into the bed and snuggled up in the middle. And that is where he has been ever since... in the middle of all the love. He sleeps on his back under the covers with his head on the pillows between me and my husband.

Bio:
I can't understand why Badger would ever have been given up. He does have some separation anxiety issues, but we have dealt with them okay. We are lucky that we have him and do our best to take care of him. Badger also goes to visit nursing homes and walks in parades for the Lions Club. Who ever let him go, thank you! Badger is a wire-hair dachshund. We didnt know until later that the name meant "badger hound"... it was just a name that suited him
