Arrival Story:
I was going to class one morning for work and I couldn't get off the back porch because there was a dog growling at me. I woke my husband up and made him give the dog a treat to distract it long enough for me to get past. She was scared and wouldn't let anyone near her. When I got home from class, she was still at the house but she was much more friendly. I put out food and water and checked her collar for tags. Unfortunatly I think she was dumped (we live in the country) and I was unsuccessful at locating her owners. She loves to run all over the neighboorhod and I couldn't bear to let her be put in a cage at the pound. She also has some bad habbits that would impede her adoption. Since Ally has been with us the past few months, she has earned a spot in our family. She is a great watch dog and she is learning very quickly for no more time than I have to work with her. She has calmed down a bit but still has a way to go. ally loves our new house. she still doesn't come inside but she has 3 acres to run in. there are a couple of neighbor dogs that come down to play with her. she has an invisible fence and has learned where her boundry is and doesn't get close to it. i was surprised how quickly she learned. she is still hyper but does better in the summer when she gets a walk every day. she is a great watch dog and now that we live farther out in the country, i feel very secure with her here. she only barks when someone is slowing down by our driveway or someone is pulling in. she is a great dog!

Bad Morning

My foster mom helped some people put me in the back of a truck this morning. They looked harmless enough but I think I remember being in the back of a truck once before. When we finally stopped, we were at a strange place. There were a lot of wierd smells and sounds. I could hear a lot of other dogs talking and they didn't seem to be happy. We went into a little room and then this guy came in and started to try and pet me. I have never met him before and I was nervous. He was talking to my foster mom and she looked concerned. Then this guy left but when he came back he had this thing with him. He gave it to my foster mom and she tried to put it on my mouth. She really wanted it on there but I didn't think it was such a good idea. Then my foster mom held on to me real tight (like she was giving me a hug...I like hugs) and the guy poked me with something that really hurt. The rest of the morning gets kinda fuzzy at this point. My foster mom said that I don't have any diseases and that I have been fixed...I remember not liking that. I am still a little foggy but my foster mom carried me in the house(I still can't walk yet from that poke they gave me) and I am trying to wake up on the warm carpet in the sun. I am not supposed to be inside but mom said it would be our little secret. I also got a new name today. Now they will call me Ally instead of Dog. I could still use a forever home but my foster home is great. Well, I am getting tired again so I am going to lay back down for another nap.
